The main character is taken on a journey that ends and the end of the book, yet is open for more chapters, more journeys.
As I apply this to business and to personal growth, I think having a picture of the 8 stones would help me move this from the head knowledge to the heart knowledge in a short amount of time.

Filled with common-sense invaluable advise.Review Date: 1998-10-08
Ms. Kay has included many valuable exercises that (although time consuming) will give you a fresh approach to showing yourself in the best possible light. You will lose the interview jitters because you "know" what you want to say.
Through the exercises you will gain new knowledge of your own skills and how to present those skills in the context of the job interview, instead of just blowing your own horn.
This is a terrific book and it does work.
An inspirational, encouraging guidebook Review Date: 2004-12-28
I heard Ms. Kay speak earlier this year. In person, she has a friendly, funny, down-to-earth yet no-nonsense approach to finding a job - luckily, she writes in the same manner. It doesn't matter whether you are looking for your first job, looking to change careers, looking to re-enter the workforce - Ms. Kay has valuable advice for you. I followed the steps in the book, and voila, everything came together for me in the form of the perfect job. Even if you're not a job seeker, you'll find the book wo rth reading due to Ms. Kay's "never give up" attitude. Good luck to all.

An Interview With Jesus ChristReview Date: 1999-12-01
Jesus--out of his robe and sandals and into a space suit.Review Date: 1998-06-23
The interviewer possesses the mind of everyman and consequently asks the questions the average guy in the street would ask Jesus. His answers are easy to understand and he speaks with such authority and knowledge that the reader is absolutely convinced that these two individuals are actually sitting down talking to each other. I had read in the scriptures about the "mansion worlds in his father's house." In this interview, Jesus tells us that it is these educational planets where we go after death in order to perfect our personality prior to become immortal and eligible for eternal life. Most people think that if you're good in this life, you'll go to heaven. Jesus tells us that heaven won't have us until we travel to 570 DIFFERENT WORLDS in different bodies to gain the spiritual ability to be eligible to meet the God who created us. Jesus tells us that "there is NO HELL...God does not create hells. It would not be God-like." He says "angels are the preferred way to travel from planet to planet" and that "the first two human beings were born on Earth 950,000 years before Adam and Eve arrived."
In this book Jesus comes off as one of the first champions of women's rights when he says, "Women are the moral standard bearers and the spiritual leaders of mankind." And if you've ever had tro! uble with believing the atonement doctrine, Jesus sets us straight by saying, "No personality in the universe can do anything to atone for the sins of another."
You've heard of NBC and CBS. But have you heard of the UBS? Jesus says, "All inhabited worlds...were tuned into my birth on Earth by the universe broadcast system(UBS)." And if you've ever wondered about the VIRGIN BIRTH, Jesus says he "was conceived and born just like all babies have been conceived and born throughout history."
If these revelations don't blow your mind, this is what he says about reincarnation. "If you show loyalty and devotion to the will of God on your first sphere of existence (earth), you are awarded a new body on another world to continue your journey. After approximately 570 planetary reincarnations, you proceed to Paradise where you find and meet the God who created you."
I always wanted to know a lot more about the childhood of Jesus and the so-called "missing years." He gives all the answers in the interview, including info on all his BROTHERS AND SISTERS and a detailed account of his journeys to lands from Ephesus to Alexandria. He even explains that he was forced to gain parenting knowledge when his father, Joseph, died under a falling derrick while working on a government construction project when he was only 14.
Jesus was very concerned that the world today emphasizes the story about his life instead of his ACTUAL TEACHINGS. The interview contains 38 pages of questions and answers concerning only the teachings of Jesus that are PRACTICAL TO DAILY LIVING and are guaranteed to change your preconceived notions of life...forever.
I had always wondered about LUCIFER, Satan and the other so-called devils. Jesus talks about these guys in great detail and tells all about the dreaded Lucifer rebellion when 37 Planetary Princes rebelled against the rule of Jesus (aka Michael of Nebadon). Unfortunately, the Planetary Prince of Earth, Caligastia, threw in his lot with t! he insurgents and we've been quarantined from the Universe Broadcast System ever since. And just think, we think its a big deal when our computer or telephone goes out. The whole planet...what an outrage!
And if you've had trouble harmonizing science and religion, this is the book for you. And whether you're a proponent of creationism or evolution, you'll be interested in what Jesus has to say on the subject. But I'm not telling in this review. You'll have to buy the book and read all about it yourself. You won't be sorry. And if you feel like I did after reading the whole thing through (only 5 hours, you'll truly believe that you've captured the wisdom of the universe...through the master mind of Jesus himself.

Excellent book on little-publicized aspect of World War IIReview Date: 2003-04-13
The author skillfully orders these narratives, also noting the role played by each soldier and unit noted in a brief introduction before each narrative. These soldiers give the facts, their opinions, and some general observations. "At times it actually seemed that the white man would rather lose the war than give the black man the recognition he so clearly deserved."
The African American had two enemies -- the Germans, and the white soldiers and civilians. Southern law officers might force African American soldiers to march in the ditch, since the very highways were reserved for whites.
There were times that African American soldiers would fight white soldiers who provoked them. In the South, this might lead to a lynch mob. A number of accounts note that German POWs were granted privileges denied to active duty African American soldiers. One soldier notes that he had to walk down an alley to the back of an eatery in Texas to order food, while German POWs were allowed to eat inside; this was a common practice in the South. In the South, African American access to the base PX would be restricted.
Trained African American soldiers were assigned to stevedore duty. Trained African American pilots were assigned to guard airbases which were in no danger of enemy attack. White officers were promoted or transferred, to prevent them from having to follow the orders of an African American officer of higher rank in their unit. Officers' clubs were "separate but unequal." Only when mixed with African Americans in actual combat against the Germans, did whites treat African Americans equally. There were rare exceptions of white officers and units who stood up to this segregation.
This book is full of hundreds of such memories and incidents. Some incidents recount how African American soldiers interacted with other minorities in the army, and with the citizens of different countries. This book is slow reading, because each incident generates thought, but it is well worth reading.

Shows full scope of Black military experience this centuryReview Date: 1998-08-24
I read this book after Lee's book and Nalty's "Strength for the Fight" and it added clarity and depth to their more traditional format. The author, a woman, is aware that she is stepping into an arena that is traditionally all-male but provides a balanced view to the male voices she transcribes in the book.
Should be required reading in some military history classes.

More of That JazzReview Date: 2007-10-25
Roy Thomas and Jim Amash, both associated with Alter Ego, have produced a book that takes more than one sit down to fully appreciate. While packed with artwork from his career (and other artists), the interview format does not work fully. The interviews transcribed, took place over a period of time, and as Roy said' `An embarassment of riches' lay before them.
With such a wealth of material to draw on, this format is the most effective way to present the life and art of John Romita. I am certain that a full length biography would include this information and much more.
Don't get me wrong though. I enjoyed the book and appreciated the insight into his co-workers. Some of the goings on behind the scenes at Marvel, you would never have expected.
Artwise, I looked for more of his western and early Timely pieces. The Black Knight on page 22 would have made a great full page. Gotta love the many, many Captain America pages too!
Thanks for a lifetime of artistic excellence John.

After a tour of duty as an editor of comics books, I left to eventually join Grumbacher Art Materials Company as their public relations director. This job took me into the area of easel painting, which an art sophisticate indicated moved me into an expanse of "rarefied air." I never bought that description, and as I continued to work with fine artists in the field of fine arts, I was sure that the air was a far cry from the way it was described to me.
I have just received the book, John Romita...And All That Jazz, co-written by Roy Thomas and Jim Amash. Every glossy page is adorned with the most magnificent comic art I have seen in ages, and the Q&A text is fascinating and highly informative as only Jim Amash can make it. I have to say here that Jim is a master interviewer because his knowledge of comic books, past and present, is so outstanding that this makes him comfortable with asking leading questions that he implements to jog his subject's memory about long-forgotten names, dates and incidents.
John Romita...And All That Jazz is an incredibly beautiful book, one that truly resides in the splendor of air that's "rarefied."

Excellent book for anyone.Review Date: 2007-08-17
Lavishly illustrated, great antecdotal tales. Both Mr. Amash and Mr. Thomas had known Mr. Romita for many years, according to the book and they treated their subject with care and respect.
I was amazed by how much one person in that industry was a fan of another and how each affected the others craft.
A very good read. I can happily recommend it.

draining. Most people experience one at least once in their
working life. It is part of the hiring cycle.
What a lot of job seekers lack is the skill set required to
sell themselves. An interview is a two-way street. It is an
exchange of information and ideas with the aim of impressing
each other.
This can be a daunting task from both sides of the table.
Both parties need to be aware of what is required from the
process, to achieve success. It is not easy to do this but
the aim of an interview is to obtain a successful outcome.
All people seeking employment can learn how to improve their
interview skills. Techniques are available that will help to
improve their prospects of getting jobs. Carole Martin's
book is an excellent source to guide people in the right
direction.
Full of valuable information, the book will add immense value
to a person's armory in the quest for a job. It is a book I
strongly recommend to every job seeker.
