A friend of mine bought this book for my husband, as we are expecting our first in December. I picked it up one day and couldn't put it down. It has so much insight into the physical and emotional relationships with baby and father (and mother), right through to teen years. This will be one at the front of our bookshelf for many years. I came to amazon to order one for our friends who are also expecting. -soon to be mum, Samantha

I have many grammars, but this one is the most impressive work I've ever seen. It is a encyclopedic reference grammar rather than a grammar used for teaching a language. The scope and thoroughness is like nothing I've ever seen before. There should be such grammars for every language.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING WORKS THAT I HAVE EVER READ! IN THE BOOK, YOU WILL FIND THE STORY OF SEVEN CHILDREN THAT ARE FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES IN WAYS THAT MOST OF US CANNOT IMAGINE. THE STRENGH, COURAGE, AND FAITH SHOWN BY THESE CHILDREN ARE AN AWESOME THING TO BEHOLD. I GUARANTEE THAT BY THE TIME YOU HAVE FINISHED READING THIS BOOK YOU WILL DEFINITELY LOOK AT YOUR OWN LIFE IN A NEW LIGHT.

I started listening to this audio book because the Hole in the Wall Camp is nearby and as it is a charity we sometimes contribute to, I wanted to know more. I was expecting perhaps a documentary type work or something somewhat depressing but it was exactly the opposite. The stories are so moving and create a better understanding of what these authors, these children, have in their hearts and embrace in thier lives.

I studied under Carey Newman for three years in my undergrad studies. This volume, an adaptation and expansion of Newman's dissertation, explores in great detail the background for Paul's use of the term "glory" in his writings. Great emphasis is placed on Paul's "Christophany" (the appearance of the risen Jesus to Paul on the Damascus road) as the lens through which the apostle understands Jesus as the divine glory spoken of in the Old Testament. Although very technical in nature, this book offers great insight into the writings of the apostle Paul. Highly recommended.

This work is absolutely brilliant! It is one of the most thorough commentaries on St. Paul's writings that I have ever seen. It is completely faithful to the Magisterium, so it sticks out like a sore thumb when lined up against the modernist rubbish that passes for scholarship in contemporary circles. Of course, some of the material here is dated so this work should be supplemented with something that covers recent work/material/discoveries. (Familiarity with the original languages is assumed.)

One book every new minister should read

When I graduated from the largest Seminary in the world, I along with my graduating classmates were all given a free copy of this book which was about to be published. It is one of those books that is true to the title: Things that you need to know, but weren't on the agenda in the Seminary curriculum. Things every new minister must hear; Personal finances, keeping priorities straight, (church work does not equal your relationship to God), and building up your own family while building your church. Minirth & Meier have seen hundreds of family members of small, moderate, and large church ministers: All ready to call it quits because they had last place in thier own homes. They've also seen numerous ministers come through their clinics due to depression and dependency, and even adultery. This book is a result of that, and is a timely word to young ministers to keep their priorities where they should be, and to be prepared for the costs of ministry on their families. I keep my copy and give one to every new minister we ordain.

The book contains a disclaimer that some pages may be missing or that print quality may be less than perfect or that strange paginations may appear. This edition of The Dream of Gerontius contained all of the pages and color quality was fine. There were some checks and X's throughout but nothing that hampered the intelligibility of the text.
