This is a great article that displays both insightful scholarship and accessible writing. The result is a compelling argument that takes a pragmatic view of the Markman procedure, while at the same time paying proper deference to overarching policy considerations as well as fairness for litigants. While intellectual property law is difficult even for lawyers to understand (much less laymen), Dawson walks the reader through her analysis in a very thoughtful and logical manner. A very thought-provoking and satisfying read. Highly recommended.

This is a very nice to book to have on the shelf of an aeroacoustician. This book gives a detailed information on sound sources and clear and consise explaination of lighthill analogy, curles theorm, moving source radiation e.t.c. Although there are some typos (especially in excercise problems and answers), this book suppliments the standard aeroacoustics texts like Howe's "Theory of Vortex sound"& "Acoustics of Fluid structure interactions".

Wow! This is one author that I will read a lot more of. Fantastic writing, fast paced, witty, and funny. Characters are so lovable, even though they're not the typical 'perfect' people, they're real and very very entertaining.
I love the minor characters too, like Bodie and Portia, and especially the toddler who hides phones.
The plot was really good. I was afraid the 'matches' they find for him would be boring, but they weren't. It was hard to put the book down.

The story of Annabelle and Heath is my favorite in the Chicago Stars series. Ms. Phillip's writing style is sassy and she has a great sense of humor. I was slightly disappointed that the romance in this particular book was over-shadowed by the subplots, but it was a fun read altogether and I highly recommend any of Ms. Phillip's books.

Sometimes when you're sick or tired or depressed you need to create a lovely little cave for yourself to heal. Put on your softest sweats, foot lotion and sockies, lip balm, some aromatherapy on your ear lobes and across your forehead, grab this book and disappear. It's so perfect watching many characters grow, change, fall in love, have great and clever dialogue--just put this on your keeper stack and trust 113 reviews that you can't go wrong with this purchase.

I didn't want to stop reading to go to bed. I was laughing out loud several times. The witty and entertaining dialogue was great. Annabelle was fun to read about.
CAUTION SPOILER: I loved the scene on pages 302 to 312. This showed how both Stars and Bears football players liked to visit and hang out with her in her home because she reminded them of their mothers. She and the players had a lot of fun just hanging out and teasing each other. It was great scene. There was a secondary story happening with Bodie and Portia that was fun. This book was great entertainment.
Sexual language: mild. Number of sex scenes: three. Setting: current day Chicago. Copyright: 2005. Genre: contemporary romance with romantic comedy.

Debrah Morris has a sweet, emotional, sure to please story with A Little Night Matchmaking.
Celestian has been demoted from his duty in the afterlife for not always following the rules. His punishment? He must go to Earth, where no one can see or hear him, except a small child, so he can bring a pair of star-crossed lovers together and possibly redeem himself in the eyes of his superiors.
Brandy Mitchum has always been just a few pennies away from the poorhouse, struggling to make ends meet and raise her young daughter in the best way she can. A string of jobs where her bosses felt her home life interfered with her career life has left her feeling desperate and working as a paralegal for a rather selfish lawyer of a boss. What she really desires deep down is to find the one man who is her soulmate, who will fulfill her life in ways she has only before imagined.
Trick Templeton is a confirmed bachelor whose love `em and leave `em perspective on relationships has always served him well. He has no desire to ever settle down. When he meets Brandy and her daughter Chloe, his good sense tells him to run in the other direction and fast, before she can suck him in to the domestic life he's always avoided. However, can a little help from a pair of matchmakers, Chloe and her "invisible" friend Celestian, show these star-crossed lovers that what they've always needed can be found in each other?
This is a sweet story that makes a good addition to the Soulmates line by Silhouette Romance. Here readers find a pair of lovers mismatched as can be, but bound by a love that surpasses lifetimes. Ms. Morris has skillfully portrayed a beautiful story in this book. Brandy's life revolves around her daughter and every decision she makes is for her benefit. She believes her own life can and should take a back seat to her daughter's no matter how many struggles she has to go through.
Trick and Brandy clash from the moment they meet, but there are more then just sparks of temper glowing. They both feel a strong attraction, and it goes against everything they want in their lives. But love will not be denied, especially when they have their own "guardian angel" pushing them together. When these two finally give in to their desires, they find more then they bargained for, and a forever kind of love.
This reviewer was glad to see Celestian again, having enjoyed his antics in Ms. Morris' previous novel. Seeing him go from something of a celestial snob to a sensitive caring being will delight readers. He has always had a tendency to bend the rules to his needs, and how he does so in this story provides some humor to the tale. One will also be glad to see that the end of this book gives hope for Celestian finding what is really lacking in him.
In short, fans of traditional, sweet romance and those who don't mind a little bit of light paranormal tones to their story, will be more than satisfied by Ms. Morris' A Little Night Matchmaking. One can only hope there are many more stories to come from the pen of this talented author.

Having fallen in love with Debrah Morris's humorous writing style and wonderful storytelling in When Lightning Strikes Twice, I was eager to get my hands on A Little Night Matchmaking and the book was worth the wait! I loved Brandy's story as much as Joe's, and I was laughing out loud at byplay between the precocious daughter Chloe and the heavenly helper Celestian. Morris doesn't disappoint with this story of star-crossed lovers who get a little help from above. The characters came alive for me from page one and left me eager for her next book. I highly recommend A Little Night Matchmaking!

This book is a sequel to "Tutoring Tucker" and "When Lightning Strikes Twice," but it doesn't measure up to them. It's the story of Brandy Mitchum (Joe's ex-wife, from "Lightning") and her "soul mate," oil well fire fighter Trick Templeton. Both Brandy and Trick must overcome a fear of commitment before they can get together.
Despite the reappearance of both Celestian the creative angel and Joe and Brandy's precocious daughter Chloe, I didn't enjoy this story very much. It lacked the humor that livened up the other two, and it was hard to sympathize with Brandy in quite the way the author intended, because, having read the previous books, I still felt enormous sympathy for Joe! Also, the theme of reincarnation is given a bit too much emphasis here. Trick's workaholic attitude and flippancy about affairs also bugged me. And the emotional connection between him and Brandy seemed mostly based on his efforts to recapture the best parts of his lost childhood.
All in all, you won't be missing much if you skip this one.

One of the finest books I've read in years but having roots in western County Clare I could be a wee bit prejudiced. As much a part of the area as Christy Moore's song, the book is extremely entertaining and takes me back to visits back home in Miltown Malbay. The character are truely taken from the Clare countryside and I could swear that I recognize a few of them personally. The dialogues and bar scenes are pure Clare and brought back more memories then I can count. A must read if even just a drop of the green stuff flows in your veins.

Being an independent recruiter for the last 10 years, I have to say that these guys really portray the day to day challenges that we face. Most of the research was done in the 90s - some things have changed but the basics have remained the same.
If you are considering becoming a headhunter, this book tells it all - good and bad. This industry is easy to enter but hard to survive in.

As a novice in the recruiting/headhunting industry doing research for a business plan, I found this book to be very informative. It has input from a lot of real time headhunters, so you get to understand how they work on an industry level and on a day to day basis. However, in spite of vast research the authors have put into this book, most of the research was carried out in mid nineties (although the book was published in 2002) so the word "internet" comes up only twice (or a few times) in the book. One gets an impression that the resume/candidate database is one of the most important assets for a headhunter, but I wonder to what extent that is relevant given that a few resume databases such as monster, careerbuilder, hotjobs (some of these sites are mentioned only once or not at all) will give anyone access to a greater number of resumes' than someone who has been in this business for a long time and relies on the resume's in their own database.
But, is in any industry, certain things always remain the same, even with the influence of the internet, and this book does a great job of shedding light on how headhunters work in the marketplace.

I have been working in this field for 25 years, and read most of the major books. Although I am a big fan of Bill Radin, this
book blew me away. Perhaps it's social science orientation rather than "war stories" that you find in other books of this ilk. True, as another reviewer says it does not have a major web focus, but the web is a tool and more for HR than headhunters. Companies don't pay 5, and occasionally, 6 figure fees for what they can get off of a $500 ad on Careerbuilder or Monster.com. The data doesn't lie. Anyone that wants to start, improve, or reach their peak in this often misunderstood profession should definitely read this book. It's a fairly quick read, but it tells you what you need to do to be a successful headhunter via in depth surveys of successful practitioners.
