I admit right up front that I am probably a little biased about this book and Bill's cooking because I am his cousin. But in all honesty, I can say that the recipes are excellent and easy for anyone to make. At family reunions, kinfolk can't wait to eat his dishes. It's great to have these recipes that he and Cliff Teinert have used right in our own kitchens for our own use.

Say What? Hey, I'm serious here! Kay has a love interest from the very beginning of this bug fest. The pretty lady in the garden whom Kay sneaks periodic views of on his computer; the one who never got his bouquet of flowers.
But what happens at the end of this film? "Junior" zaps him and he is now with her. The love of his life! And that folks, will be the only thing he will ever remember after his awakening from a so-called "coma."
So what does all this bug chasing, inter-galactic "keggers", assassinated Arkelian princes and other worries ultimately amount to? Nothing! 'Cause no one involved ever remembers! "The only reason no one is afraid is because they don't know about it!" Kay exclaims to Will Smith (aka Junior). Us, nor anyone else for that matter.
Nevertheless this is an extremely entertaining and fast paced film that belies its maybe unintentional love interest. The action and comedy is non stop and both Smith and D'Onofrio (The Bug) are outstanding in their rolls. You won't want to stop to get some popcorn.
Don't miss this one. But just remember, it's only a love story.

People go through life oblivious to the reality around them. As pointed out in this movie, at one time everyone knew the world was flat; and now everyone knows we are alone in the universe. But what if we are wrong? Who will protect us? "Men in black used to be the term for the bad guys. This movie shows they are our last line of defense. This is a fun movie and there are many great actors to add to the fun.
Every one is so busy watching Tommy Lee Jones make his stoic looks and Will making one-liners that they miss the person that hold it all together. In addition, that person has to do act throughout the movie in an Edgar suit. Have you ever tried one on? Vincent D'Onofrio has to look unnatural and act natural. This was one movie where I felt sorry for the bug. He even drops his snack (Linda Fiorentino) near the end. It just shows that bugs lead a hard life.
If you are into recent bug movies, look for "Out There" where they mention bugs in a rug

I first saw this one in the hospital after having my appendix removed, and I have to say, it was a fun ride.
It's well cast, Tommy Lee Jones does great in his role as Agent Kay, and Will Smith does a very good job as the funny Agent Jay. This comedy does not fail to disappoint, however, I must complain about the rating.
The way many people die in this film is simply put, disgusting. I mean the gruesome deaths are the following:
a man is killed by an alien, then it climbs into his skin and pretends to be human (the result is gruesome, hideous and disturbing all at the same time).
another man is killed by having a large needle like boject filled with exterminator poison shoved down his throat, the death is instant, but nasty.
Impalement through the neck.
One man dies (through unknown means) and is plastered to the ceiling with saliva like goo (this may have been a reference to the film "Aliens")
An alien is shot and explodes into goo
An alien explodes
This content is enough to convince me of an R rating.
My only complaint about the movies quality is it was way to short, it felt a little cut off at the ending.
All in all, entertaining, recommended, funny, viewer discretion advised.

" Winter's Dregs" is just over 24 hours in the life and death of New York City. Written by Bob Fingerman and illustrated by Tommy Lee Edwards, it begins with a plague of rats attacking one woman, but the rats are infected by the zombie disease and soon it spreads throughout the whole city. The art is dark and moody, perfect for this genre. The script focuses on a select few characters and their reaction to the carnage and chaos around them. All of it combines for a hunting study in human nature, that's the typical high quality we've come to love and expect from Zombie World.
" Eat Your Heart Out" is written and illustrated by Kelly Jones, easily my favorite Zombie World artist. The story is of a young man obsessed with the girl next door, even when she becomes a zombie, craving nothing more than to eat him alive. Their relationship unfolds in a truly bizarre way, making this a cringe-worthy read.
" Home for the Holidays" is by Gordon Rennie and Gary Erskine. The tale of old Connecticut Family gathering for Christmas, it gives a new meaning to the phrase, " We'll all be together for the Holidays" as the Zombie virus infects the old family cemetery where 400 years worth of family members are buried. Erskine's art is crisp and photorealistic, Rennie's reactions from the dead and living are brilliant. This is my favorite tale in the collection.
" Tree of Death" is my least favorite Zombie World tale. Set in London, it's written by Pat Mills and illustrated by J. Deadstock. The art is good, but not stunning, and the script tries to hard to be an Evil Dead story. I love Evil Dead, I love Zombie World, but they're not so great combined. It even had the `hero' who looks a lot like Bruce Campbell searching for the Necronomicon, which looks exactly the same as it does in Sam Raimi's classic. Filled with Satanic Goths, people possessed with ancient warriors, and the messiah of Zombies, Azzul Gotha, it is entertaining and bloody, but not the VERY high quality I've come to expect from this series.
This is a great volume and I recommend it for zombie lovers everywhere. It's truly horrifying and creepy.

I read Champion of Worms first and while it was entertaining this volume, which comprises the rest of the Zombieworld tales, is tremendous. I enjoyed the entire collection, as much for the diverse storylines as for the varying artistry in each chapter. Two larger, more complex visions (Winter's Dregs and Tree of Death) bookend two far more slight but very enjoyable ones which are told in first person. For overall disturbing vision I give Eat Your Heart Out the top score, simply based on the level of insanity the main character has. Winter's Dregs has the most interesting characters--it is, in a way, a slice of life type story with the average folks of NYC dealing with the plague of zombies as they try to move along with their normal lives. Tree of Death completes the tale that came about in Champion of Worms and in its own way was fun and distracting. I liked the character 'The Killcrop' quite a bit--a bit of the ancient destructor with an attitude, which reminded me of Conan, was fun to watch.
The different artists styles all were fantastic, vivid, and enhanced each story tremendously. Each storyline is well thought out and creative in their development and completion. Overall, this is truly an outstanding tome.

A lighthearted film about life, love and not allowing even the most difficult of obstacles to get in our way. Two brothers go through life as conjoined twins. None-the-less, they achieve and experience more in life than the average Jane or Joe. When one wants to become a Hollywood actor and the other finds his true love, things get complicated. Should they chance a risky operation to be separated or continue life as it is?
The storyline is not as predictable as one may imagine, the humor, feeling and soundtrack are great. In fact, I am crazy about their version of the song "Summertime" and wish I could find it somewhere! Unfortunately, so far I can't.
My husband and I weren't even planning to watch a movie when when my son asked us to watch this film and we both truly enjoyed it - we hope you do too!

I love Tommy Lee Jones and Cate Blanchett, but to be perfectly honest, this movie was unwatchable. I do not know how I actually finished it. There was so much wrong with this film, that I was shocked by the fact. The plot is incoherent and utterly bland, as were the uninspiring performances by everyone. The bleak environment did nothing for the atmosphere of the film. Nothing about this movie interested me in any way. Boreing is an understatement.

This is fine storytelling with well thought performances all around. The Apache's inhumanity to their prisoners is entirely believable. Blanchett's coldness to Tommy Lee Jones is central to the story and indispencible. This film belongs among the modern classics of western film which truly make the old favorites from the 40's through the 50's seem both boring and contrived.

I think that people who dislike this film are missing some valuable dramatic aspects. It's all about conflicts and extremes. Magic versus science, religion versus mysticism, ignorance and fact, man pitted against nature, old and young, healers and shamans. Why did the father turn away from his family and embrace the native ways? Why is the daughter living a seclusive life. What are they both running from? When the father first returned, I knew he would be the hero or the villain. This is what makes a good story...tension.

I will tell you up front that the vast majority of disaster movies have a hard time holding my interest. Most are so soaped down with romances I could care less about, that I shut them off after about fifteen minutes. This movie does not suffer from that movie killer affliction and in fact it is one of the few I actually like. Tommy Lee Jones is a great part of the reason. Cast in the lead as the FEMA Director trying to control a Volcano that has erupted in the city, it is well handled and with the normal available resources. Nothing over the top and therefore it earned my respect. Granted they probably could not have handled the real deal as well as they do here, but it didn't seem so outrageously ridiculous as most disaster movies. The action mainly involves Jones, Anne Heche, and their assistants trying to predict the path and scout areas to see if they have been hit and change the flow when necessary. I found the movie moved at a good pace without the undue buildup found in so many disaster movies. This one felt like it moved along from beginning to end. If you enjoyed this be sure to catch "Dante's Peak" and "Twister". Good quality DVD with decent replayability.

Sure it is cool to see the filthy city of Los Angeles get cleaned up by some hot molten lava, but c'mon now this is too far fetched. You got these Chevys driving around on asphalt that is melting from heat but the tires don't pop...yeah right.
Tommy Lee Jones is running around like he is Carl Lewis on a bad day, yet is never out of breath...yeah right.
Some kid shows bravery and actually minds his dad, instead of telling his dad and the co-workers to take a hike while he goes joy riding in the suburban...yeah right.
Fun disaster film but you know...yeah right.
You know what I am talking about. Twister Volcano Hurricane Tsunami Earthquake you know they did like every single one now so there cannot be another. oh wait...Tornado? Yeah right.

In 1997 there were two eagerly anticipated volcano movies released. Dante's Peak was more of a blockbuster hit, but not very accurate from a geologist's standpoint. Volcano was more realistic and accurate. It was nice to see a disaster movie depicted as it would naturally happen.
Tommy Lee Jones and Anne Heche were wonderful to watch!

*Good Movie!*

Robocop 3 wasn't nearly as unintentionally comical as I had hoped. Instead, it's pretty similar to the original Robocop, but with updated movie technics to make the picture and effects at least appear better, even though the storytelling is just as cheesy as it always was.
One thing that was very cheesy was the ending where Robocop finds an ability to fly. It was extremely funny watching him fly around the city taking out the bad guys.
The amount of action was pretty good, as far as enjoyment in that area is concerned. As for the storytelling aspect, well, a little girl entered the scene in the very beginning that showed her parents getting shoved into a bus, never to be seen again. The little girl, who's a computer genius, becomes friends with Robocop.
If you liked the first Robocop, I believe you'll this one just as much. There's plenty of humor as well, mostly from the words Robocop says. Just forget about "flying Robocop" near the end.

The powers that be want to relocate women, children, the elderly from their homes to make way for Delta City. These people are labeled as "terrorists" for not wanting to leave. This was back in 1993.
That is the great thing about science fiction, you can point all all the injustice and absurdities of our time and get away with it.
Judge the movie on its on merits and don't be biased because the title is Robocop 3. It is fun and it is good science fiction. It's message of "out of control executive power" is even a bit scary as it is too close to home these days.
Oh and talk about fun, catch Bradley Whitford from West Wing and Jill Henessey from Law and Order and Rip Torn from "Men in Black" in supporting roles. It makes the movie worth watching over and over.

After hearing so many negative reviews and seeing that this movie is rated pg-13 and doesn't have the original guy who played robocop in the 1st two films!!...I had no interest in even watching it!!!..I loved the first two movies because of the dark humor, great story-lines and the excellent graphics!!...anyways...I ended up buying the 20th anniversary edition of the 1st movie that just released...then happened to come across both the 2nd and 3rd movies in the $5 bin at Wal-Mart...I debated so long on whether to buy the 3rd film or not...I ended up buying it only to complete my robocop collection....I waited about a week later to watch it...needless to say....I LOVED IT!!!....The dark humor is still there!!!..I didn't notice a change at all in the movie being that it's rated pg-13...still shows realist gun shots, swearing..etc...and most of all....this new guy who plays robocop...LOOKS ALMOST IDENTICAL TO THE ORIGINAL GUY WHO PLAYED ROBOCOP..PETER!!!...with, and without the helmet!!...if you're a robo cop fan..definately watch this film..you won't think twice about adding it to the collection!!!
Robocop 3 should be arrested and shot!

Man, I just loved Paul Verhoeven's vision of Robocop depicted in the first Robocop. The graphic violence and dark humor for sure, but there was this undiscribable "mood" and "atmosphere" that a quality moviemaker brings to a film. Compared to the first Robocop, Robocop 3 should be arrested and shot. Robocop 3 is in violation of Robocop's third directive, "protect the innocent." This film definately harms the innocent viewer. Where to start? Robocop befriends a group of rag tag, poverty stricken homeless good guys who are fighting against the evil land developers who team up with, get this, the "Spatter Punks," punker rocker looking guys who terrify even the cops. Robocop does the cliche driving his car off of a parking garage to land in the middle of a gunfight. Also there is the precocious wiz kid cliche. Then, there are robot ninjas. That, alone should be enough to convince you. Also, Robocop flies around on a jet pack. I rest my case. Lastly, Robocop 3 just lacks that atmosphere and mood that made the first Robocop something funny and compeling.
