This book would be very useful for finding answers to your state questions. For those who want more information on a particular subject, there is an annotated bibliography at the end of each section. The section on state profiles includes information you might expect to find in an almanac, such as land area, state song, and state flower. An easy to use book filled with tidbits of information.

For a design book under $25 bucks, this book is a steal. It features a lot of contemporary designers, with great pictures, interviews, and a bit of art history to boot. Gives you a lot of ideas and a few things to chew on.

For a seasoned designer, this book may be kind of basic. However, for a student or a young professional, this book offers a wealth of information.

This book is an excellent handbook for the contractor and construction professional. It clearly cuts through a lot of the hype that comes from the hardware and software sales departments and tells you what you need to know. The authors have spent a lot of time reviewing various software from every angle. They tell you what it can do and what it cannot do. The book covers software for CAD, specifications, estimating, scheduling, accounting, job costing, preparation of forms and contact management. In some cases the authors tell you a few things that the software vendors don't want you to know. Don't expect to read this from cover to cover. This is a book that you will use as a reference. This is a great cookbook. A friend of mine introduced em to some of the recipes. They are easy and quick to prepare.

The Corporate Report Fact Book contains information about a number of publically held, privately held, and non-profit companies in the upper Midwest. It provides detailed information about the companies, and about over six hundred individual business leaders in the region. This book is an excellent resource for would-be employees or investors.

It provides address (both physical and online) for the companies, as well as details about revenue, number of employees, type of business and financial information such as balance sheets for publically held companies. The information is also available online, though in not quite such detail.

The 1999 version is very easy to use, and changes made in the 2000 edition make it even easier. Information is clearly documented (so it's easy to tell what you're looking for and at.) It gives all sorts of detailed stock and financial information for publically-owned companies, and is therefore an excellent resource for investors. The information about kind of industry and other details are great for prospective employers. I can see it alos being very useful to companies or businesspeople wishing to make contacts with companies in a given industry.

An unbelievable CD-ROM! Almost a thousand large, crisp photos, TV commercials, the "Black Book" statistics and much more is included. The screen saver is worth the price alone. If you like Corvette, you WILL love this CD.

This book guided us through our honeymoon trip to the south of England excellently. Not the book if you're expecting 4-star "American-style" hotels, but the perfect book if you're looking for local character and charm. Descriptions are extremely accurate (rare for a guidebook). Drawings of each lodging site were helpful when somewhat lost

Counties USA is commended for governmental, corporate, academic, and community library reference collections as being a truly first-rate resource as a quick and easy reference.
