I have never been a reader of high fantasy. I listened to this book on tape. The acting and voices of Brendan Frazier were more entertaining than any movie.

I enjoyed the length of the story. It was just right.
The dragons are leaving their home after many years of safety. Man has come to their valley, and it is no longer safe.

Firedrake, the silver dragon, sets out to find the Rim of Heaven. He has his trusty furry brownie on his back. When they land in a human town with high rises, they pick up a human boy, who has no home. They encounter danger from humans, and many creatures along the way. They are also shown great kindness in the form of a rat who has given them a map, a genie with 1000 eyes who will only speak to humans, and a professor, a dracologist, and a sea creature who gives them a ride. They have gone quite a way on their journey, before realizing they have a stowaway. Twigleg is a tiny man in human form, born in a test tube. He is also a spy for the golden dragon, Nettlebrand.

Nettlebrand, the golden dragon, has been formed by a human alchemist to be a dragon killer. Nettlebrand is following the dragon, in hopes that he will lead him to the Rim of Heaven so the golden dragon can eat the other dragons. Nettlebrand has already eaten all of Twigleg's brothers and his own maker.

Nettlebrand is so large and so powerful that all other creatures and even dragons fear him. He is unable to fly, since his golden armor is so heavy. Nettlebrand has become king of the water.

Will the silver dragon ever reach the Rim of Heaven? Will the boy be safe among the creatures who are trying to destroy the dragon? Will the golden dragon destroy the last of the silver dragons?

I enjoyed this story of The Dragon Rider very much. It is a great imaginative tale, of courage and friendship. I will look for other books in this series.

(I am typing this for my 8 year old son)....Dragon Rider is a very good book! I started reading it and couldn't put it down. My favorite character is Twigleg, because he always helps Ben. The story was very interesting. I recommend this book to kids who like to read about magical creatures.

Dragon Rider is a book about a dragon named Firedrake, a brounie named Sorrel, and a human named Ben. The main characters ran into two problems. The first problem was that they did not know where the rim of heaven was and the second problem was that Nettlebrand, another main character, was after them. I like the book because it was adventurous and very interesting. I would recommend this book to a person who likes fantasy and adventure.

This book was an awesome book because it was by my favorite author. This book is a Dragon named FireDrake. He was trying to find the Rim of Heaven because his fellow Dragons were being attached by the humans. Along his way. he meets a boy that also helps him along the way. First they go to a rat because they need a map to find out where they need to go. Then they travel at night because the dragons can only travel because they need the moonlight for strength. But there is a monster that looks like a dragon because he likes to hunt dragons and his name is the Golden One. He hasn't hunted in a long time and he has servants that go and try to find the dragons but they have a spy that is spying on the dragon to find the other dragons in the Rim of Heaven . Will he find the Dragons or will the dragons try to kill him. Read to find out.

Dragon Rider is such a great book you can't wait to find out what happens next. This book takes place in a valley where dragons are trying to escape to the Rim of Heaven before the humans come. This story is so adventurous. It's just like cause and effect. The book also has a lot of great action. The author wrote this book with so much excitement you'll be on your toes. Every chapter it gets more interesting. I hope you enjoy this book like I did.

Let me start of by saying, THIS BOOK IS EXTREMELY BORING. Most of the chapters are pointless, and if they were taken out, you could still understand the story. When I was halfway finished, my friend asked if he could borrow this book. He hasn't returned it yet (And it's been almost a year), and I'm not complaining.

PS: I loved Inkheart.

I was expecting a much worse copy of harry potter's books and I was really surprised when I discovered this books are even more interesting and, by far, much better written. I could say they are more adults although still full of imagination.

I very much enjoyed the first in the series and couldn't resist the second. While reading the lengthy tale, from time to time I caught myself wondering why this chapter couldn't have been half as long or what the heck does this paragraph have to do with the characters/place/plot?! But in the end (though in my opinion, the book could've been 440 pages or so) the characters, setting and story are so strong and likable that Inkspell is most definitely a superior read. Better than Thief Lord and 90 percent of everything else out there in the genre. And now, having finished the book months ago, I still find myself thinking of Meg, her father, mother and Fenoglio. Yes I will assuredly read the next.

Very interesting novel. Not quite as good as the first book but enjoyable. Picked up very well where the first book left off and leaves you ready for the third book. Looking forward to reading the third in the series.

Inkspell is a spectacular Ya fantasy novel, as good as Inkheart with as many twists and turns. There is really nothing more to say about this book that hasn't been said in other reviews, only that it is absolutely worth every penny, which cannot be said for many other books on the market today. The characters are so realistic and developed you feel as if they could be sitting beside you, and in my opinion Dustfinger is the best character in the entire book! The book is worth reading just for Dustfinger!

I am a huge Brendan Fraser fan; I think he is the most charming, energetic and fresh actor in Hollywood today. In this autobiographical book, Denise Tyrrell is able to capture that energy and charm in a very eloquent narrative of Brendan's life. When you think of Brendan Fraser from Encino Man to The Mummy, he does not necessarily appear to be an actor with a life story worth reading, but NOT so!!! I found his life story to be very provocative, intriguing and entertaining, with very engaging use of language by the author.

This book is required reading for anyone who enjoys Brendan Fraser or his movies. The best part is that there is still a long way to go in his career! So hopefully the author will update this great story soon.

Faascinating Reading about a Fascinating Actor

Denise Tyrrell's recently published book about Brendan Fraser is concise, precise, and a joy to read. The book goes into much detail about what has motivated Mr. Fraser to become the actor - and the man - that he is, and covers the territory in a writing style that makes the book difficult to put down. Her style flows smoothly from tales of his friends from college, to his early meetings with casting directors, to his choices in film roles - all of which told with a truthful eye. Sometimes seeming to bolster what some film critics have found to be 'weak links' in his acting choices - or in a film company's editing or promotion choices - there's never a hint at disrespect for the talent Mr. Fraser so obviously possesses. Readers looking for salacious gossip won't find it in these pages, as the author has kept her focus keen, and the respect she pays to him as the private man he is shows as well. I'd recommend this book to any film fan or even budding thespian who'd like to know the work - professionally and privately - it takes to become a good actor. I'd also recommend this book to any fan of Mr. Fraser's, whether a long-time fan or one new to his work. The reader won't be disappointed. Cheers for this book, the publishers, and of course, for young Mr. Fraser, who's just at the beginning of what many of us hope is a long and fruitful acting career.

a must have!

The long awaited Brendan Fraser biography is here, and to anyone with an interest in this incredible talent this book is a must have. Fans suffering from cases of blind faith may wince a bit at the author's honesty and objectivity regarding some of Mr. Fraser's career choices and box office results. But Denise Tyrell's job was not to sugar coat the truth, instead she goes so far as to dispel many myths supported by magazine articles and talk show hosts. The book confirms what Brendan Fraser admirers have known for quite some time: that he is a completely unique individual with an incomparable gift. To those of you who are just now discovering his body of work, don't look for any behind the scenes dirt - there simply isn't any. The fact that such a genuinely pleasant person could be thriving in today's Hollywood is just one of the facts this book brings forth.

This is one of those books that people who suffered as a student in math class will appreciate especially if they have to teach math conceptes to their children or others. It is a pleasure to think of learning math by examples from newspapers, comics everyday context like sport games, jokes. The point is that if you do not like a subject like math you will not do well and today educators are succeeding in finding ways to make math a fun topic and incorporating math into everyday life.
