Journey to Inner PeaceReview Date: 2006-12-07
If you have every wondered how to start finding peace within yourself, look no further than this book. Mr. Singer's book gives you the tools to change your life and be inspired to live each day to its' fullest. Day by day this book expands on wisdom imparted by a surprisingly diverse group of people, from well known spiritual leaders such as Gandhi to Jackie Collins, popular author. Mr. Singer provides you with a daily meditation based on the thought of the day. Questions for thought and personal journaling, as well as affirmations to carry through out the day, round off each day's mediations and help you find answers to your life questions. Also provided each month is a suggested reading that enhances the daily enlightenment exercises.
Mr. Singer walks the reader through his strategies for transformation. These include:
Modeling - gaining insight from the quotes and the people who said them,
Bibiotherapy - reading to gain knowledge and insight,
Mindfulness - applying the daily guidance throughout the day,
Journaling - express your thoughts and feelings in a personal notebook,
Visualizations- visualizing your transformation each day will help you achieve the results you want, and
Affirmations - internalizing and applying these truths throughout the day.
I found this book very easy to read. Every day's meditation can be completed in a few minutes. Subject and author indexes are provided should you have need for a specific topic of meditation on any given day. The suggested monthly readings fit well with the meditations and feature some of my favorite inspirational books. Each day's meditations, journaling exercise and affirmations related to some aspect of my life and challenged me to look inside myself and find my purpose. Every message was inspirational and left me wanting more. I found it impossible to read only one day at a time, even on my busiest days. I read the entire book in less than a week. Now, I look forward to each morning's message and journaling. Already I can say that I am further down the road to inner peace than before picking up this wonderful book, "Your Daily Walk with the Great Minds."
A Book to Change the Way You Think Review Date: 2007-02-19
What can you look forward to when you get this book? The book is broken down into daily assignments...you read a quote from one of the great minds, then a short paragraph to guide you on your day along with a mind searching question which you answer. This short daily time enables you to gradually change your mindset and I have found that I think about my daily question and answer all day. I have a small notebook I take along with me and have all my short daily thoughts written down...which helps me keep the concepts I have learned so far fresh in my mind.
Another good thing is that Richard gives you a monthly reading assignment...a book written by a great mind, past and present. Having the whole month to read the assignment enables you to absorb the information.
I am gradually changing the way I look at my life and people around me have started noticing a change...more positive, more hopeful, more grateful to the abundance that I do have in my life...even if right now it's not the monetary abundance...but I am now hopeful and positive that that too will change very soon.
Thank you Richard...you have written a book that everyone can handle gradually...so even those who say "I have no time to read" can do this and will gradually want to read more.
A Program for an Exciting Life Journey Review Date: 2006-07-23
Richard than provides thought provoking questions for reflection, contemplation, and action. These questions become the basis for a personal journal that will enable the reader to assimilate and internalize these principles, to consider a higher calling to live life with an intense constancy of purpose and a sense of fulfillment.
An example of quotes found in the book is one by Richard Singer himself:
"There are three gifts you can give on a daily basis that will eventually transform all of creation; they are love, compassion, and kindness."
Richard had provided a book of the month suggestion. I plan to incorporate these books as must reading for the year ahead. I personally was challenged to live in the present moment, with a combination of determination, persistence, and patience.
This is more than a self help, motivational or inspirational book. It is a program for a changed life. I highly recommend it for anyone wants to move beyond mediocrity and to experience a more fulfilling, meaningful, and purposeful life.

So Grateful!Review Date: 2008-01-28
The steps are so easy to remember, and I have worked on the 30 day plan everyday. In fact, I look forward to it every morning! This book was such a quick read, and also light and fun. After seeing a change in me, my teenage daughter is now reading it. We are so grateful for this discovery.

This book however, does not go into great detail about the mechanics or science behind The Law Of Attraction, so if you need a more in-depth, philosophical read, try Esther and Jerry Hick's works! Easy to relate to, understand and apply this book!

What is not shown in Amazon's "Search Inside" feature of the latest edition is the preface in which Laurie Nadel describes the pivotal experience that began all this: she had travelled to San Fransisco to look for work, in 1975: She had never been there before but there was no place to stop and ask for directions. "Something" told her which turnings to take - left or right - at each intersection. After about twenty minutes she slammed on the brakes, questioning her sanity - only to realise that the offices she was looking for were only several buildings away. There was no "logical" explanation for this.
Not only did this incident inspire me to experiment for myself, I also very much liked the balance of the "rational and intuitive" that Nadel encourages. It's therefore great to see an updated edition of this book.
Nadel gives practical exercises and suggestions for explorations that are both creative and down-to-earth. This is particularly useful; although there are books now that describe recent research into the power of "non-local" mind, readers will want to know how to apply these new discoveries in their personal lives - and nothing facy or time-consuming. No special techniques, either.
Authors published recently such as Lynne McTaggart (The Intention Experiment) Bruce Lipton (The Biology of Belief) and Dawson Church (The Genie in Your Genes) inspire us with reports of incredible discoveries, and suggest special ways of drawing on our new-found mind powers. However, Laurie Nadel brings an everyday, practical approach to the whole subject that is refreshing and helpful.
Certainly, authors like Dawson Church stun us with reports that a group of people could "unwind" (activate) a sample of DNA at a distance of a 1/2 mile. I will continue to refer to his book (and other authors) for inspiration, but I have returned to Laurie Nadel's "Sixth Sense" for a practical, everyday approach.
After the initial euphoria of "The Secret" we need something as pragmatic as "The Sixth Sense." Particularly helpful if you have, like many others, had your own intuitive experiences and didn't know what to do with them.

Inspiring, informative and entertaining look at topicReview Date: 2002-01-06
just heard him on a PBS special, in which he described how he
often sends those who write him a gift for no special reason . . . so when he graciously sent me his live lecture tape series, SECRETS OF YOUR OWN HEALING POWER, I rushed to listen to it . . . my reaction: WOW!
As is the case with any book or tape put out by Dyer, you'll be
inspired and informed when experiencing it . . . in addition, you'll be entertained (as was the group of chiropractic professionals fortunate to be able to hear him).
He emphasizes that the secrets to healing are not somewhere "out
there," but rather, healing is something that takes place inside each and every one of us, occurring when we "connect to our Source" and bring Spirit to the disease." He emphasizes that healers need to be able to banish doubt and see their clients as individuals who already possess the capacity to heal themselves. That is, those with health challenges need to have someone in their energy field who truly believes that healing can take place.
These other observations by Dyer also caught my attention:
Doctors when they misdiagnose . . . do they then agree to having
misbilled?
When you place a label on somebody you negate them. You then
begin to treat the label, not the person.
Four words will end all conflicts in relationships: You're right about that.

Affirmation Cards for InspirationReview Date: 2003-12-11
Wayne Dyer has created a 50-card deck of inspirational messages. Each card has a message and then an explanation on the back. All the cards are quite beautiful and show not only creativity in their creation, they are quite inspirational.
The cards come in a high-quality, colorful little box with a lid. The cards are really a reminder of what you know to be true. Sometimes you just need that little affirmation and you can continue on in your life path. These cards propelled me forward into my future.
I especially liked:
Front of Card: "Inner Peace Creates World Peace."
Back of Card: "You get world peace through inner peace. If you've got a world of people who have inner peace, then you have a peaceful world."
Front of Card: "Love Is My Gift To The World"
Back of Card: "I fill myself with love, and I send that love out into the world. How others treat me is their path; how I react is mine."
Front of Card: "I learn from both positive and negative experiences."
Back of Card: "Your joy is divine, and so is your suffering. There's so much to be learned from both."
Many of the cards do focus on the aspect of "controlling our own destiny." By looking inward and reacting in a positive way, we make room for positive change. You can put these cards on your fridge, bulletin board, on the dashboard of your car or on your computer at work. You could also put them in letters to friends to help others find inner peace.
Another beautiful gift from Wayne Dyer! These inspirational cards can be used to enhance your contentment, happiness and peace of mind. You might recognize some of the ideas from Dr. Dyer's books: "Staying on the Path" and "Everyday Wisdom."

Inspirational, Peaceful Deck By 'The Father Of Motivation'Review Date: 2004-05-01
Dr. Wayne Dyer-- internationally renowned psychotherapist, author, and teacher--is affectionately known as "the father of motivation" by his many fans. Every book that I've read by Dr. Dyer has been a gift of encouragement, common sense, and clarity-and his 50 card deck Inner Peace Cards is no exception. As with most Hay House motivational decks, Inner Peace Cards are a high-gloss kaleidoscope of color and inspiration, measuring 4.12 x 4.13 inches. They come in a convenient flip-top box that is covered in illustrations...both inside and out.
Dyer's purpose for these cards is to help you feel the love of God deep within you on a daily basis as you're guided to drawn upon the inner peace that lies within.
I was having a particularly stressful day yesterday, and as I opened the box, there was a bright golden card that said: "Once you have learned how to enter your inner kingdom, you have a special retreat within that is always available to you." I immediately felt a sense of peace. Sometimes, when the outside world seems to be crowding in, it only takes a small reminder that we have the kingdom of God within...and it can be accessed at any time.
Each card is not only lavishly illustrated in every color imaginable, but also bears an inspirational phrase on both sides. Some of my favorites include:
If you meet someone whose soul is not aligned with yours, send them love and move along. (I align myself with people who support my growth.)
If you are suffering in your life right now, I can guarantee that this condition is tied up with some kind of attachment to how things should be going. (I release the need to determine how things "should" be.)
One of the highest places you can get to is to be independent of the good opinions of others. (What other people think of me is none of my business.)
You can't go around being what everyone wants you to be, living your life through other people's rules, and expect to be happy and have inner peace. (I live my life in my own way.)
No one can create negativity or stress within you. Only you can do that by virtue of how you process your world. (I create the world that I live in.)
I fill myself with love, and I send that love out into the world. How others treat me is their path; how I react is mine. (Love is my gift to the world.)
As you can probably tell, these cards not only inspire, but also challenge us to examine our perspectives and the choices we are making. Leading us into a deeper, more mindful way of living, Inner Peace Cards are a wonderful way to re-connect with the Divine, our higher wisdom, and others.

I Only Wish There Were More Cards In This Deck!Review Date: 2006-05-17
The "Inner Peace" card deck is a beautiful set of helpful "reminder" cards of many of the insights shared within "The Power of Intention". On the front of each card is a positive saying, such as "True Happiness Resides Within Me", and then the back provides an insight about how to make that statement true for you. The back of the card cited above says "Most people are searching for happiness outside of themselves. That's a fundamental mistake. Happiness is something that you are and it comes from the way that you think."
Overall, I've found these cards to be easy to read, and quite insightful - a great way to remind yourself of the various thoughts/beliefs/ideas/tools you can use to create inner peace within your own life.

A personal "Life Compass" - the IGS - profoundly simple and fundamental way to listen to your own body's Higher wisdomReview Date: 2007-01-24
She has a different take on the "emotional guidance system", promoted by Abraham-Hicks. She helps you find your own IGS (internal guidance system) in your own body, and then gives you practical ways to use this as a compass in life upon which to base your decisions. From "which set of colored Christmas lights shall I buy" to "is this the right path for me in my life"; learning to recognize and trust your IGS can bring profound clarity and courage. And this 4-CD set is an excellent introduction (if you are new to it) and an excellent reminder and "personal coach" to help you live these important Life principles.
What I particularly like about Zen is that she is real. She is not a guru sitting on a pillow above the crown - she is full of energy, empathy and humanity and I find her very approachable, entertaining and right on the money when she talks to people about their stuff. Her ability to give you new perspectives is uncanny. Her approach is both practical and extremely heart-felt. She can be gentle and can also be "no bullshit" cut to the chase when she feels it's appropriate and you can handle it.
I guarantee you will enjoy meeting this woman and will come away from the experience having gained something of value for your life and Spirit. Check out her website AhumaInstitute.com for information on her and her work and to listen other free MP3 recordings of her speaking with real people. She also has an audio archive available to subscribers with over 65 hours of her humor, warmth, empathy and wisdom on a variety of topics from weight loss to how to be less controlling in relationships - well worth the price of admission!

The missing piece to Abraham-HicksReview Date: 2007-01-04
Instead of just teaching to "state what you want and then feel good" she explains the subtle body reactions to thoughts and statements. Zen teaches that it's in the recognition and understanding of these signals that you are able to create the life you desire. No longer am I just making lists or writing my desires out, now I'm understanding the internal feeling I get as I do these things and know when a statement I make serves me, and when it doesn't - when I am in the flow and when I'm not. The IGS truly tells you whether you "feel good" at a vibrational level or not.
Zen is a wonderful teacher with interesting personal stories woven into her lessons. She discusses her own successes and struggles in an open, loving fashion. Her voice is soothing and caring, she truly is a pleasure to listen to. Most impressive of all, (many law of attraction teachers don't do this) she generously credits all the wonderful teachers who have helped her along her way!
Whether you have no knowledge of the law of attraction, are struggling to make it work for you, or, like me, think you've heard it all and there can't be anything new..... I believe you will benefit greatly (and learn some very critical "new things") from Zen's CD's. I know I have, and I've moved on to Zen's other teachings. I feel I've gained tremendous insight and value from them.
I will be on her waiting list for anything new she's offering.....
