This book will bring back memories of the fun, exciting, wonderful days and nights of the 60s in San Francisco. Names,places and incidents I had forgotten about were brought back to life by Barnaby Conrad. I found myself laughing out loud at the anecdotes shared. A great gift for anyone who lived in SF at the time. Nostalgia at its best!

Here's a book you talk about way after you'd finished reading it! The contents are quick and easy to read at your leisure, and come back to again and again. I've read it on the beach and at the airport and the title always starts a conversation. I've commented on it a few times while chatting with others -- just to see if they are clever too! I'm ordering 3 for Christmas gifts.

A great, handy reference book, "The Address Book: How to Reach Anyone Who Is Anyone" by Michael Levine is a helpful book for anyone looking to write celebrities, politicians, businessmen, and other notable personalities.

Each contact is alphabetized by last name, and contains the address, person's occupation, and in some cases, birthdays (for celebrities only) and webpages (for companies). As an avid letter writer, I found this book helpful in providing me with addresses at demand instead of hunting them down through the Internet by doing searches or going to company webpages.

A great book many will find resourceful, "The Address Book: How to Reach Anyone Who Is Anyone" will help many find the contact information they seek without the need for a major Internet search or many telephone calls. It makes a great gift for students, business professionals, and for anyone who avidly writes letters.

A very intimate and unique look at living rooms- not just a book about living rooms and their interiors, but as personal expressions of their inhabitants.

This is a no-holds-barred inside look on what it's like to live with a debilitating disease. From the onset of what was about to become a year of hell, to the triumphant remission of cancer, this is the authors recount of living with Hodgkins Lymphoma. The entire book is a day-by-day account of emails written by the author to his friends and colleagues explaining the pain, treatment and emotions that go along.

This is a great read, as it is very informative to see exactly what the author was feeling and going through during such a painful time. He would email a friend daily and of the weekly ritual of chemotherapy, and they would respond, praising the author for his amazing humor and forward-looking insight to the hopeful end of this battle.

This book would be a wonderful inspiration to anyone who has ever gone through, or is going through chemotherapy or cancer treatment. The author is very candid with the readers, because at the time of these emails, there was no thought of publishing them.

I met Mike F. Long in Seattle a few months back, and he seemed like an entertaining individual, so I decided to check out his book, Obscure Dead Celebrities. It's a collection of short stories based on misadventures in the state of Indiana, presented as musings on both teenage and adolescent life. I suspect these stories in some capacity were drawn from real life, because the author himself seemed to reflect a bit of the youthful, mischeivious spirit embodied in the book's characters (it turns out he lied to me about his age). His dialogue is sharp-witted, and the stories have a Sedaris kind of influence. A good read for anyone who likes to laugh.

The book " His Banner Over Me" by Jean Little is an excellent book. I would recommend it only for 12 and older, even adults !!!

On the Firing Line: The Publi Life of Our Public Figures written by William F. Buckley, Jr. is about the interviews Buckley had on the televison show "Firing Line." Lasting for twenty-three years and hosted by Buckley, this book contains parts of those interesting shows.

You'll find a whole host of dramatis personae in this well written tome. As with the televison show, this book has concise and cogent reviews as Buckley tries to interview the men and women who actually think seriously and rigorously about the way we govern ourselves. I found a dry wit and humor in spots all to entertain, challange, inevitablely chiding at times, but always wickedly brilliant.

The list of people in this book reads like a who's who and covers the major issues of our time, as Buckley discusses , uses rhetorical tactics and techniques with sometimes unpredictable results. You will laugh is spots as hilarious dialogues engage you. This is a valuable witty and learned tome with discourses making wonderful reading.

If you were a fan of "Firing Line," then you'll really like this book complete with Buckley's own annotations giving this book a flavor all its own.

An incredible review of an incredible catalogue of work. Shawn Mortensen does more than snap photos, he composes shots that are brilliant or haunting and expose the subject in a way that words couldn't.
