Annette D'Agostino has done a wonderful job in researching and writing this charming and funny book that appeals to everyone -- even those who aren't big soap fans. Not only are the bios of those whose careers began in soaps enjoyable and entertaining, D'Agostino's summaries of soap history and listing of all soap operas is fascinating. Well done!

The number 1 book of an astrology library.

This book is more than zodical hocus-pocus and diamantiferous lala from Southern Cal.
Stallone offers a down-to-earth and powerful introduction to astrological thought, and will teach the reader in clear terms how ancient mythology may still enlighten us on our person.
Stallone is a profoundly talented astrologist.
Her sobriety - anchored in the depths of Western civilization's lost knowledge of the 4 elements - keeps her intent on examining the roots of the person other than professing prophecy.
Astrology is not about numbers (or dates) but of relationships (or elements).
Although her style is swollen with colloquial elbow-nudges and too much ease, and the book is wrapped in LA glam, let her tone of the quick-tongued and loving mother with pinnacle 'esprit de finesse' guide you calmly through the magisterial and dark doors of our other, and lost, mode of thinking.
Her vision of the year's sun-cycle and its impact on personality patterns is limpid, simple and vast; science enough to quake any tight-lipped intellectual.
The indispensable, number 1 book of an astrology library.

I love this book so much that after reading it years ago, I still want to read it again because it's so entertaining with an astrological and psychic twist. I have been studying astrology for years and have never read a book that brings people together by matching their decans!

For those of you that are intrigued by your zodiac sign, but don't want to wade through pages of boring charts--this book is for you. It takes a more lighthearted approach to your "sign" but also gives it an interesting twist. I loved this book! In fact every copy of the book I have bought has been borrowed (a.k.a. stolen) by friends who just can't seem to remember to return it. Sly's mom certainly knows how to entertain you!

Inspiring! Encouraging! Amazing!

This book will definitely convince you of the accuracy of the old motto: If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

As someone who has run into her own share of big brick walls as well as a few incredible successes, I can guarantee this will encourage anyone currently suffering his or her own storm or inspire anyone dithering over a decision to pursue a dream. The book remains a frequently consulted personal source of inspiration to me, as I'm in the midst of a new business venture right now!

Ever felt like you've reached the end? That things are as bad as they can be? That it just isn't worth it? So have the people who shared their thoughts in this book. And by reading their shared experiences and struggles, you can perhaps see the light at the end of the tunnel. Like the other books in this series, Volume 2 offers encouragement that can satisfy your soul at just the right moment. I read these letters to my kids in hopes that they will always "persist."

What a great gift--for one's own nosalgic journey and for anyone else who will want to have a keepsake of the times and tides of our nation's preoccupations, whether with celebrities, politicians, sports figures, important 'voices' of inspiration. The pictures are captivating; the joy is infectious. It speaks volumes about how and why Oprah has led the way for a nation's curiosity and insight. It reminds us of all of the friends we've made as Oprah introduced us to who was 'happening' and how we came to open our world to all of them. Important !!

I'm a huge fan of Oprah Winfrey. I've watched her television show since it first came on the air. TO OPRAH WITH LOVE has wonderful color photos from many of my favorite episodes. It's filled with pictures of Oprah with tons of celebrities, politicians, sports heros, authors and others. So many priceless moments from her tv career are captured on these pages. It's just like a photo album filled with pictures of your best friends and family! As I first looked thru it I realized how much Oprah has made me laugh, made me cry, made me think, made me wonder and made me happy! I'll cherish this book! Wow!

This book's specific focus on relationship needs and in working with periods of time when relationship issues are activated is very useful. There are many examples to illustrate the concepts. The "compatibility checkup with someone you've met" is what so many people seem want to know when they wonder if they've met "the one". The book is grounded in solid astrology and offers practical information and advice for navigating the highway of love.

Excellent information about timing

This is a book about synastry, that is the astrology of relationship. In particular this book looks at compatibility in relationships and the aspects of marriage.

What makes this book special and very worth buying is that it is the only book that i know of that has techniques for predicitng or assessing the timing for marriage. Rose Murray delineates very good technique for looking at a person or a couples horoscope and seeing marriage in the stars...and the date of the marriage too! I have tried her techniques and they seem very solid and valuable.

Also the book is very good fun, with lots of charts of interesting and quirky people. I had a really good laugh reading it.

In fact this is a reprint and enhanced edition of Rose Murray's 'When will you marry ?'. The layout is much neater and the content is updated. This is the only book I know of that teaches you indepth about finding the time to marry (or meet someone). If you read the examples in this book you will think that this is an easy job, but that's rather due to the very clear examples. In practice you may need to look at a lot of horoscopes of friends, clients and relatives to know that it's not that simple at all. Rose Murray has done a wonderfull job by giving us all the possible and 'proven' methods. This book is a must read if you're interested in relationships.

Brad Dunn's new book, "When They Were 22" is a breezy read concerning people we know and some whom we might not know as well. Highlights range from Stephen Hawking.....(his best entry) to Jerry Falwell (read it if you must). It's a great idea for a book and one that will click if you're past the ripe old age of 22, or even approaching it! I highly recommend it.

If you love biographies, you'll love this book. An incredible idea which proves that this critical year in any persons life, can alter their future in such a significant way. I highly recommend this book to all. It is not only interesting to young people but Brad Dunn has selected to capture a moment in the lives of such a unique group of people.

After I did something really stupid when I was 22, a friend's mother calmed me down by telling me that "youth is for making mistakes, just don't keep making them when you're 40." In this book, B.Dunn points out that many of the people we know, celebrate and even revere were also once 22. Not in the obvious chronological sense, but in the terrrible, wonderful, frightening and enlightening way we all were. It's well written, creative and constantly surprising. Keep it up, big guy.

BRILLIANTLY SARCASTIC!

Review Date: 2007-02-25
110 Per Cent (I Don't think I have a cent sign character) by Top Shelf is a wonderfully sarcastic skewering of both boy bands, and their fanatical followers, hilariously, and somewhat tragically presented by Tony Consiglio.

Cathy, Gerty, and Sasha are three middle-aged women obsessed with the boy ban "110 percent). They belong to a club named MOFO (Mature Older Fans Of...110 per cent) who meet monthly to discuss the bands tours, rumors, upcoming CD,s and the band's discarded food that they intend to sell on eBay.

Cathy is a sheepish office worker, harassed by fellow employees. Sasha is a rather brow-beaten housewife whose husband simply cannot understand his wife's devotion to the band. Worst of the lot is Gerty, a mother who puts her affection for the band ahead of even the needs of her husband and family.

When the bad is coming to town, Gerty manages to only get two tickets and her and Cathy conspire to go to the show without Sasha finding out. Yet Sasha's husband, gruff though he may be, surprises her with a pair of her own tickets. Cathy now must find a reason to NOT go with Sasha so she can go with Gerty, a plot which makes her feel quite guilty.

Consiglio manages to make the women even more pathetic than the bands themselves. You can't help but pity the trio for not realizing just how sad their lives are. It's at once very humorous as well as quite sad.

Top Shelf continues to deliver comics their own way. They don't stick to conventions and are only all to willing to tell these slice-of-life type stories. 110 Per Cent is another gem!

As a professional photographer, I can appreciate the creative portraits that were chosen for this lushly produced photo driven cook book. The restaurant is fabulous and I am excited to be able to now create the dishes at home. Although, it will be hard pressed to re create the simple elegance of the restaurant, I will save a bit of money by cooking these great recipes in my own kitchen.

Truly beautiful pictures. It's almost a puzzle trying to figure out who they are. He takes people like Drew Barrymore and Jack Lemmon and turns them into glamourous, untouchable stars to be worshipped of the 30s and 40s. He has put stars back in the time when they were STARS. The intro by Dunne is heart warming and sad as he remembers the big movie era.

A "MUST HAVE!" Hollywood Glamour Book

Review Date: 2001-05-09
In 1994 celebrity photographer Len Prince began an ambitious project of photographing contemporary stars in costumes and settings that evoked the "golden" era of Hollywood. Using a Deardorff 8x10 and lighting techniques that pay homage to George Hurrell, he produced a magnificent collection of images which include Drew Barrymore, Jack Lemmon, Patrick Stewart and Martin Sheen. To say Prince's images are breathtaking would be nothing short of an understatement.

Not to be missed is Prince's comments on some of the sittings. My favorite being his sitting with "Miss Piggy," which includes the incident with the "buffet" and how he had to sustain himself through the afternoon shooting on a single grape.

The book introduction is by writer Dominick Dunne and is alone worth the price of the volume. In presenting Prince's work he recounts a time long gone when style was in vogue and Hollywood was the home of STARS.
