In contrast with W.R. Blain's book for "Marina Developments" -That is an excellent and maybe the only book about Marinas from a structural standpoint- this one is an architectural approach to Marinas and all the elements around it such as Yacht Club, Apartments, Houses, Restaurants and all related services. It's full of details and references in a text that is catchy and easy to read. My only concern was that I thought it was pricy in the first place despite that it was printed and bounded in Italy, but Blain's book is above the $250 and this one is more related to interior design and architecture so it's worth 5 out 5 starts.

Reading about John F. Kennedy, Jr. broke my heart and opened my eyes at the same time. The author delves into the psychology of John John, and what part he played in his own death because he believed he was "invincible," which the author says most celebrities are guilty of without having a conscious knowledge of it. The author has taught me a lot about emotional issues while keeping me entertained.
The book is an "honest" look at celebrities and the things that influence them. The author's explanation of Halle Berry's role in Monster's Ball, that bought her the Oscar, was one of the most enlightening sections in the entire book. It gave me a more intimate outline of The Academy Awards and the behind the scenes dysfunction that shapes the whole awards process.
The book is like People Magazine and New York Times meets the UCLA Psychology Department. A very good read!!!!!

Greg Norman's career started as an amateur taking shots at rock'n'roll concerts. He went on to document the protest era, film work in Los Angeles and portraiture. Always showing a fine sense of the moment, his images breathe with life. He works almost entirely in black and white, creating strong, graphic prints.
I love the perfect contrast of a shot of the Barbi Twins, the incredible expression on a photo of Nina Hagen, the frequent glimpses of Keanu Reeves, and many, many others. "Inside Life" has about 175 beautifully printed photographs in it, and very little distracting text. There is a foreword by John Waters, an introduction by Dave Fulton, and a short afterthoughts section for reflections from some of his subjects.
"Inside Life" is a remarkable testimony to the work of one of America's notable photographers during the 90's. It has value as a source of inspiration for other photographers as well as being a beautiful coffee table book.

1) A reference to Cecil B. DeMille's "Sunset Boulevard".
It's Billy Wilder's and Leigh Brackett's picture. DeMille had
a cameo in it.
2) Donna Douglas (of "Beverly Hillbillies" fame) is referred to
in a caption as "Donna Dixon" and in the accompanying text as
"Joey Heatherton".
3) Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, in English riding clothes,
are described as wearing "Western gear".
4) Sammy Davis Jr's ex-wife, Mai Britt, is twice referred to as
"May Britt".
Did anybody edit this book, or were Garrett's reminiscences taken
on faith because he, of all people, should know?

As for Jack Real, I have a hard time understanding why he did some of the things that he did. I think there is more to his story.
