It is a book for all seasons; a book that should be on the coffee table-- picked up and read at any time; a book full of text and photos both inside and outside his cinematic life; a book of biography and filmography; an art book; a fun book featuring many photos of his film faces (remember Manu as a lady-of-the-night??) and much, much more.
Mustaq Shiekh, author: 'the book is a tale of a journey that led from New Delhi into the homes, hearts and minds of innumerable fans all over the world, and a journey that transcended boundaries of nations and the artificial barriers of culture'.

If you like scrap book format coffee table books, then this is the book to get. Each page is filled with enough color and sites to keep any guest awake through the wee hours of a party when the crowds have thinned out or are too drunk to talk. The book is a lively walk through the actor's life from his parents' first meeting to his super stardom as the "King of Bollywood." But the story does not stop there, this is more than just an actor's ego centric ramble. The book takes you on a journey through Bollywood and Indian culture both in the past and today. I would recommend this book to anyone to loves Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood or colorful visual adventures.
If you want to see a good example of his acting then buy Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (Shahrukh Khan)

I ordered a second copy of this book after the first one was destroyed by rain! We used to read it to my oldest daughter and decided to buy it again after our third child was born... not only does it teach different parts of the body, it is a great way to get your kids moving!

This is one of my daughter's favorite books because it's very involving in a physical and non-threatening way. You read the text, you show her the movement, she sees the movement depicted, and does it. She had lots of fun and was very interested in learning the names of various body parts.

This is a wonderful book, but not before a nap or bedtime. For that, I'd recommend the related Elmo book "Quiet Time."

Elmo and his friends perform various easy to imitate actions in their muppet exercise class. My two year old loves to follow along and do each step like 'honk her nose' and 'rub her tummy'. It's a great book for 1-3 year olds.

I've read all the Cheetah Girls books and Shop in The Name of Love is by far the best. When Chanel gets hold of her mother's credit card she maxes it out and acts like she's large n in charge. She also steals and lies to her freinds and mother.
It teaches an important letter to young Divettes in Traing.
Also read Book 1- Wishing On A Star.

Shop in the name of love is a very good book. It teaches you some of the lessons of life, what kinds of people to watch out for in life, how to deal with siblings, how to be a good friend, how to deal with obsessions, and how to be a better person. This is also a very interesting book. After reading it, You will make it your favorite book just like iI did , you will want to read it over, and over again, and you'll want to get all the Cheetah Girls books.

I love that each of the cheetah girls book are in a different characters voice and that each of the five characters are so different. I'm latina, so I love the character Chanel who is dominican like me! Shop in the Name of Love is in chanel's voice and she is like a lot of chicas in my neighborhood--``adobo down'' as she says. i hope a lot of other chicas like me read the cheetah girls books. they are coolio!

Gripping Account of Survival

Review Date: 2006-07-30
Oliver Sack, MD called this book, "a remarkable account of what it means to be paralyzed, speechless, incapable of communication yet fully conscious... and to struggle back, over the years, to an active and creative life."
I was fascinated by this feminist film maker's candid account of her devastating stroke, and learning to live with disability after seeking out a variety of therapies. You see her struggle with depression, overcoming access barriers, dealing with insensitive hospital staff, and coping with the details of bodily disfunction.
It helps me to understand the experience from the inside view. Quite enlightening.

The Story of a Stroke Survivor: A Hero, Her Family & Friends
Helpful Votes: 10 out of 10 total.
Review Date: 2000-01-13
This book should be required reading for anyone in the field of rehabilitation. And it is a tremendously inspiring story for all of us who wonder how we could ever manage if we were struck with a disabling illness. If it were fiction it would be a great read. The fact that it's a true story gives one goosebumps as well. Bonnie Klein suffered a devastating stroke. This book is about her recovery - both physical and psychological - and the wonderful love and support she received from friends and family, especially from a wonderful husband. It also shows the predjudice and meanness of some people when they are faced with a person who is "different". And the ignorance and arrogance of some of the rehabilitation "professionals" she encountered along the way. It is a story of terror, hope, the tremendous importance of love and support, and how one finally comes to terms with being less facile physically than one used to be. Bonnie Klein is a hero. Her family and friends most loving and genuine. It is a great read.

Insight into living with chronic illness.

Review Date: 1998-12-28
Ms. Klein establishes important rules to live a fruitful, productive lifestyle, despite a chronic illness: Live life by celebrating life. Independence is control over one's own life measured by the quality of life sustained with whatever help is needed. Sometimes dispair can lead to depression. Sometimes, it can be motivating.

Thoughts from a Stroke Survivor
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2001-03-03
This is a great book! I have read a number of books written by stroke survivors and this is one of the best. This may well be because the book was completed several years after the event. This time gave Ms. Klein the chance to gather and refine her thoughts and experiences.

I am also a stroke survivor. Her acknowledgement that she experienced progress long after the stroke was especially encouraging to me. The medical world says that all progress stops in 3 months to a year. My experience is that the body is a living entity, which is forever changing. So, it makes sense that it would not stop changing because of any medical condition.

The book has humor and is written in a warm and caring context. I would recommend it not only for stoke survivors, but also for caretakers and for health professionals

Scooby and the gang are headed for a weekend of skiing and winter fun at the Big Pine Ski Lodge. However, when they arrive the slopes are abandoned and the lodge is almost empty. Rumors and sightings of a snow monster have scared most people away. But, Fred, Daphne, and Velma aren't scared of anything (Scooby and Shaggy are scared of just about everything) and have a hunch that the snow monster isn't what it appears to be. A fun and entertaining book that I enjoyed reading. I especially liked the scenes with Scooby and the snowballs. Kids will probably enjoy this book as will any Scooby-Doo fan.

I thought this book was really great, it is one of my favorite's in the whole So Weird book series. Fi finds out that a Civil War hero died just so he could protect Bigfoot, now Fi has to do the same.

...The story follows the main plot of the episode"Sacrifice" almost verbatim. It doesn't leave anything out,but it does have things that weren't in the show. It spices up the paranormal aspect and gives a much more extensive backstory for the Civil War soldier who encounters "Bigfoot" (middle name: Fuzzy) so many years before Fiona. It's a cute book and even if you haven't seen the show the story is easy to follow and the characters are given quite a bit of background. You won't be lost at all.

This was one of my favorite books growing up. A very entertaining story and exceptional illustrations make this clever book a must for any parent wishing to give their child something different to read. I suppose "different" is a good way to describe it and why it remains near the top of the books I had as a kid.

As a child, I loved all of the Something Queer books. When I found copies at a used book sale, I bought them for my classroom. Several of my students also enjoyed these books. In particular, the students who had difficulty with reading enjoyed these excellent stories which have relatively easy text. They often read them again and again.

My favorite children's book.

I loved this book when I was a child. The pictures are great, with close-ups, arrows pointing things out and detailed diagrams of various things. It's fun to look at all the details. I also had Something Queer at the Library and thought it was just as good.

Recently, on a trip to my parents house, I found this book and brought it home to read to my almost two-year-old daughter. She loves it! She keeps making me read it over and over again. She likes to imitate Gwen tapping her braces and Jill poking Gwen. (She even says "poke poke poke" to me as she pokes me.) She won't let me read her the Something Queer at the Library book because she is so intrigued by this one.

It's really a timeless book. Though it was published in 1973, it still feels very up-to-date, especially since Jill has a working mother. I love that my daughter loves it as much as me.

This was my first book from this author, and all I can say is WOW! this story is absolutly wonderful. I really did not want to put this book down, it had a great plot and a it kept me on the edge of my seat!

I did not much care for the hero Raile, he is rather arrogant and cold, even after he discovers he is after all in love. But he still had be happy for him :)

Great book, a must read!

Constance O'Banyon must be the best kept secret in the Romance Novel industry. I don't see to many review on her or much said, but she must be the best author I have ever read. I have read all of her novels and everyone of them have been wonderful. She has a great way of bringing you into the moment. She discribes the places she writes about with such clarity and all of the characters are very interesting. In all of her books she gets you from the very fist page.

Song of the Nightingale is one of my favorites. She continues the story in 3 more novels "The Highland Love Song" & "Desert Song" All three are wonderful.

I actually cried during this one. The hardship Kassidy & Raile go through is so heart wrenching you can't help but tear up a little.
