I found my Sunburst Pattern System at a garage sale for $2.00, and it had everything, including not only the Women's Fashions, but the Children's and the Men's Supplements, which were ALL in the bright orange and blue notebook! As I began to use it, I realized it was similar to the Lutterloh System which I also have, but with the Sunburst Pattern System, I didn't have to adjust for not using shoulder pads like I did with the Lutterloh System. There was even a bonus dart moving tool that you could cut out and glue to cardboard to make it last longer. I really like the classic styles in the Sunburst system because they didn't require as much alterations or re-fitting as the Lutterloh system required, since the Lutterloh system seems to be mostly 1980s big shoulder pad kind of styles (even though I bought it around 2000). Because I purchased the Lutterloh System new, I spent over $250.00 just to get the kit with the pattern book, "the Advanced Guide to the Lutterloh Pattern System", the two Designer's Curves for making the patterns (which can be used for any pattern and fitting", their sewing book that I think is "The Essentials" (I share these with my mother who uses both pattern fitting systems, so they travel between our homes 45 minutes apart). I use both systems, but you could easily get by with just one or the other. My mom who makes ALL of her own clothing uses both systems to design her own clothes patterns and has been much happier since we started using these systems. Like me, she is 3 different sizes, and even fitting patterns was a nightmare for both of us. We learned all kinds of quick, helpful tips that have made our sewing look MUCH more professional, and saves us time too. I finally feel like I can sew for myself with confidence, as long as I keep taking new measurements when I gain or lose weight! LOL
