I loved this cd and used it in Sunday School. The children drew a picture about Easter while listening. The quality of the drama and sound effects was a wonderful way to share the Easter story in a different way.

I gave this as a gift and my mother-in-law loved it. I started to listen to the first CD. I wasn't impressed, but as a gift, it was a hit.

I'm so proud of this project, I listen to this almost daily in my car when I'm traveling and when I pick up my children. my kids even love the dramatic reading of God's word. Blair Underwood is so underated, he reads Jesus words with love and compassion. this is a great investment..I do wish it was done in the king james version though..but this is fine. Will be reviewing the Old testament soon...Love It!!

This recording provides an awe-inspiring experience for Christians. It's like walking with Jesus and listening to his teachings. Later, you'll find yourself in prison with a chained Paul as he sends his letters of love and admonition to the various churches.

There's only so much spiritual growth you can gain by merely reading the Bible. You also need to feel it deep inside your heart. To access your heart in this way, I strongly recommend listening to this recording which re-enacts the New Testament in the Today's New International Version. The Bible Experience (Complete Bible) was by far one of the best purchases that I've ever made! This is such a powerful piece work that I even purchased a 2nd set of cd's for another family member. I'd recommend it to anyone!

I was very excited when I first got these recordings. I've put them on my iPod. The readers are fantastic. They definately add the needed emotion and inflection to the Word. Where the production falls short is the periodic musical breaks. Every few minutes there is a song that is interjected into the text. It usually has little to do with the text and is rather distracting. Also, it's all black gospel. Don't get me wrong, it's good music, but it's definately not my style. Zondervan should really consider alternate versions with different music styles. But this is all or nothing. I've found it distracting to the point that I'm getting little out of the scripture I've just heard.
Definately worth a try, but be warned. If you don't like black gospel, or don't want your scripture interrupted by song, look for another version.

I really enjoyed reading Angela's contributions. Courtney's grew on me. The book was a thorough journey down the path(s) that led them to become [such] great lovers, and it's a very insightful and candid story. Alot of passion I felt through their recounting, and it even made me look at some things in my own life differently. Would recommend to men and women-- whether single, married, divorced.......or dating! I think it may change the way one looks at the opposite sex [a little bit]--

Oh... I just got this book and within three days I'm almost finished Angela and Courtney bring you into their world.. I want more more more.. I love their story it is so touching.. thumbs up...

Like most others, I highly enjoyed Angela & Courtney's story. I loved how the author alternated from her story to his bringing completion to the whole novel. I admire them both more seeing how they put their personal tragedies & demons out in the open but yet came out on top.

I'm not completely done this book. Bought it because I heard Angela Bassett and Courtney Vance speak on Oprah. The writing isn't very good, but I am enjoying very much hearing about their individual lives leading up to the point where they become interested in each other. I have started many books in 2007, but this is one I haven't been able to put down and will definitely finish!

I could barely put this book down! I enjoyed reading the candid story about Courtney and Angela. I appreciate all the sound advice given throughout the book concerning relationships. If you can get past some of the expletives used by Angela, you will find this book enjoyable. I wanted to put my "stamp of approval" on such a well written, down to earth story about a man and women who meet and fall in love. God truly has joined these two together and may the love they share sustain this marriage.

This book by Valerie W Wesley '' When Death Comes Stealing'' is the best book I ever read and I have read all lot of books. This is the best by far. Tamara Hayle is a strong intelligent women with a mission: to raise her kid right in these mean streets, but her ex - husband brings danger to her door when he wants her to investigate in his son's death. Her son in - law. Police say he died because of an overdose on coccain, but he thinks someone killed him and made it seem like he died of an overdose. In Tamara's investigation she discover some grimy news that could end her life and her son's. This book holds action, suspense, and excitement. If you want a great mystery book you should definitly read this book.

A great way to start a mystery series. You feel sorry for Dewayne, because he starts losing all of his children. Tamara Hayle gets into this because her son Jamal is in danger. This was capturing all the way to the end.

great book, could not put it down. in the past i have not been a fan of mysteries, however, since reading this book that has changed.

Tamara Hayle is a single mother and private investigator. She left the police force to pursue this career challenge.

In this novel, Tamara investigates the mysterious deaths of a group of young men. These young men are being murdered, one by one with no apparent justification. The one commonality is that these young men have the same father, who also happens to be the father of Tamara's son. She wants to find out what is going on before Tragedy hits home.

This investigation gives you a look at Tamara the PI, Tamara the mother, and Tamara the woman. It shows her relationships with the men in her life: her brother Johnny, her son, his father (DeWayne), her former co-workers, and they mysterious Basil Dupree. Tamara Hayle is an ace P.I. I never wanted to read mysteries, so this was bought on a whim. Valerie Wilson Wesley has done a great job with this character. I've gotten every Tamara Hayle Mystery since I read this one, although this one is still my favorite.

Thanks to Wesley, mystery has become my favorite fictional genre. Her sassy sleuth, Tamara Hayle embraces those true qualities of the quintessential African American woman; strong and sassy on the outside while all the while able to conceal her internal self-doubts and fears. In the end, it's all done for the betterment of her family, friends, her community at large.

When Tamara takes on the case to find the murderer of her ex-husband's son, she knew that against her better judgement, it was something she had to do. After all, she too shares a son with this man even though he hasn't been much of a father to him. The only thing that I really didn't feel too comfortable with was how Tamara handled the fate of her son. I thought she should have shown more concern in the beginning about his welfare. As the book progresses, however, the motherly instincts kick in better. Tamara also shows us how hard it is for a Sista not to get clouded by her feminine desires when it's the right thing to do.

All in all, this is an engaging book with a strong ending. There are many characters flowing through this mystery. This creates motives and means for many so it concludes in a very unpredictable fashion which is exactly what you want in a good mystery.

Thanks Valerie for the Tamara Hayle series. This is the second one I read and I will definitely be reading them all!
