Woody Allen Books

This is truly a strange little book. It is the work of 13 different authors and artists and addresses the subject of birth. How did we get here? How were we born? Each story if quite different and each artist is quite unique in their take of the subject. Some of the stories do address the subject of evolution. Some of love. Some of the stories are a bit graphic. Please refer to the review by Publishers Weekly. This is one of the few reviews they ever got correct and nailed it pretty well. I would strongly suggest that a parent read this one first before it is presented to the child. I think that most adults will find the book quite good, but am not at all sure if all children would. Parents know their children best and this is one of those times that the parent needs to do their job and do some decision making. I would have not problem reading this one to one of my children, but would hesitate reading to to someone elses child without parents approval. I do feel, for the most part that the art work was quite well done and it is sure to catch the childs eye. It is a rather fun book and as I said, I enjoyed ever page of it. Well done!

I think it's a shame no one has reviewed this great book so far, so here goes:
We borrowed this book from the library and my son couldn't have enough of it so I bought it on Amazon. He simply loves books and trucks and this is one of his favorites. I have to animate it a little for him as I read (like, we pretend we open the door and put the balloons in, he makes the truck go and so on...) and he wants us to read it over and over again. He needs my help to fit the truck puzzle piece on every page but since he believes he does it all by himself it thrills him to make the truck stop and go at each shop and at his house with all the goodies displayed (truck puzzle flips over on last page) in the end :)!

This is the most authoritative work on butterfly and angelfishes to date. Steene & Allen navigate the narrow overlap between scientific completeness and accessibility to lay audiences with ease.
Detailed descriptions of behavior, habitat and appearance are accompanied by beautiful underwater photographs for each fish.

I never realized how much (and how little) our state parks have to offer those of us who have mobility limitations. The Mitchell's have taken the time to visit every park in their book - and it shows. I was especially impressed with the detailed descriptions of trails and points of interest. Now I have a very good idea of whether I will be able to enjoy each park. Most importantly, I know which parks I do not want to miss. Thanks for your efforts and awareness of the needs of wheelchair users and others with limitations.

A friend of mine actually worked with this author procuring fresh ingredients for cooking classes she held in her home which is how I learned of this book and the other book 'Cooking with the Seasons'. The recipes are fabulous but also use heirloom varieties of beans (many new to me) and the author includes background and history about the beans. It's really fascinating and fun. She also lists sources for the beans and I've found online suppliers who sell the more unique varieties. I've re-purchased this book for gifts multiple times. Perfect especially at this time of year!

Insofar from what I have read the book, I find it very challenging. It is not an easy book to read and master. One has to be willing to read again and again the assigned chapters to understand(especially chapter 1).But the material is very interesting. Thank you Ms. Allen!

Former geology consultant for the oil industry, Dr Jeremy Leggett turned his life around when he decided to jump the fence and join the fight to try and prevent catastrophic climate change caused by our addiction to fossil fuels. The book chronicles his new carreer as a scientist/lobbyist fighting the good fight and his constant brawls with lobbyists from the oil and coal organizations.

Great introduction to climate change issues and the probable consequences of losing this fight. A unique look at high-level lobbying and the way some corporations are ready to risk our collective well-being to protect their short-term bottom-line. A must-read for activists, lobbyists, PR professionals and concerned citizens everywhere.

I found the guide to be very informative and instrumental in the course that I am taking right now. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is taking an Anatomy class now, or in the future. Thanks so much for supplying me with such a good point of reference for my studies in Anatomy.
