Leap Into Learning is subtitled, Teaching CurriculumThrough Creative Dramatics and Dance and that's exactly what it will prepare
you beautifully for. The book itself is a creative cornucopia of primary activities, games, exercises, and innovative methods
of bringing K-7 young people into high gear for learning with their bodies minds and peers. Teachers who apply the procedures
detailed in Leap Into Learning will find a stimulated fast-learning group pf students reflecting enthusiasm and excitement
that results from this excellent work. A service of the book is the host of curriculum class plans for attaining the
creative participation of students as a method of mastering story and performance techniques, while mastering such diverse
subject matters as Social Studies, Science, and Math. You will never have a dull class if you utilize Leap Into Learning.
I only wish I'd had Bissinger and Renfro for my K-7 teachers. Believe me you will gain much, as will your students, when
you apply these materials in your classwork. It is a handsome 8 1/2 x 11" volume with innspiring classwork photos by Anne
Jackson, and clever and very clear drawings by Cara Graver.

Leap into Learning is a user-friendly resource which is a must for dance educators, classroom teachers, teaching artists
and administrators who seek to build capacity in the arts by integrating dance into the curriculum. This delightful book,
with beautiful photographs of children actually participating in the lessons, provides the reader with basic knowledge of
dance concepts, combines that knowledge with warm-ups, and puts it all together in lessons that integrate dance and creative
dramatics with Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Math. The study of rock formations, friction, earth, moon and
sun orbits, photosynthesis, addition, fractions, feelings, characterization and folk tales are just a few of the many exciting
topics which come alive as this book guides and encourages both the teacher and student to create their own meaning and express
their own understandings about specific academic concepts through movement. Participants of my "Integrating Dance into
the Curriculum" workshops in New York City have received this book. The feedback has been extremely enthusiastic. Teachers
who have utilized Leap into Learning say they "love it and are ready for more!" It has been a wonderful entry point into
the world of integrating dance into the curriculum for hundreds of teachers and thousands of students here in New York City!

Lear's Daughters is a book that must be read by every actor and theatre professional who is familiar with Stanislavski's "Acting
System." Gauss takes her readers deep into the Moscow arts theatre's studios and adds life and personality to the stoic icons
of the acting world. Gauss reveals that the system of acting that we have come to understand as natural was developed by
many artists through hard work over many years.

Dr. Gauss' book is a detailed journey into the pet projects of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko, the three major studios
of the Moscow Art Theatre. It turns what should be dull historical facts into an interesting story of the many people who
worked to create these three studios. It is a "must read and re-read" for theatre buffs and historians alike.

This book is a well balanced collection of sketches, drawings all the way through highly refined work. It is a great source
for designers and artists especially anyone who wants to improve their perspective skills. Even if you not an artist I think
anyone interested in futurism or vehicles would find this book extremely interesting. Love the drawthrough concept it lets
you visualise the structure in transparent way and makes for some really cool looking drawings.

Stitch Lover's Must

This is a great book for the Stitch Fan! I gave it to my 6 year old son who loves Stitch. He reads at a 3rd grade level
and this book is packed with facts on the planets that keep him learning as he adventures with Stitch. The story is probably
a second grade level, with a glossary and additional sidebar facts on all the planets- so the book meets a variety of reading
levels. My 4 year old daughter enjoys it as well and can follow along to the CD. The pages are a heavy cardstock for even
earlier readers. The CD starts with a little song that he loves to sing and he listens to the story in bed after lights out.
The stickers and poster were a fun activity that we hung on his wall and is now fun educational art! Love the book and if
your child is a Stitch lover it is a great choice- well, well worth the cost!!!
A great and fun book

This is one of my 3-year old son favorate books. We both love the colorful pictures, the poster and the story about the best
friends, Lilo and Stitch. My son now knows the planets' names and order and also what is special about each one of them. We
also like the audio CD that makes reading the book more interesting.

Well folks, I have seen them all, and I mean every book, video, compilation of information on Logic Pro 8 currently in print
and produced.
This is without doubt the best written and laid out of all the publications going.
All this and it is in colour as well. I almost did not buy this but this is my most referred to volumn.
I have found for me, an intermediate user, that the information within is clear and detailed and answers many
of the questions that need to be asked to get to a level of comfortability in using this great program.
Recently I brought it to a Music store with some great people who use Logic and Cubase and they took a look and everyone wanted to borrow it. No way I said, buy your own. This is not one you want to lend out as you will never get it back. Buy it now! Get your own! I hope these authors keep on writing great books so that all of us can experience the greatest and totally wonderful program out there. Check it out now. The BEST!

After 4 fish discuss stealing, Tug alone decides to do it. This leads to his being lost. Because his "buddy" fish isn't paying
attention, Tug's disappearance isn't noticed until the end of the trip. This story is entertaining for kids, but it can also
be used to teach several lessons about honesty, obedience, saftey and thinking of others. It also has beautiful artwork.

Great extra for the Everlasting RPG

Review Date: 2005-08-12
Having been a Role-Player since the late 1970's, I've seen/played/GM'ed a lot of different games, as well as having play-tested
for several different publishers of RPG's. The Everlasting far exceeds most in its setting and the research that has been
done to bring a game to market that takes a different spin on our real world while explaining how magic and creatures out
of mythology could exist just beyond the perception of common mortals.
The Magician's Companion is the 6th book to be put out by Visionary Entertainment and is an excellent source for anyone who would be interested in taking on the role of an Osirian (a human who has magickal abilities and who is tied to the cycle of death and rebirth (reincarnated and able to remember past lives). It also expands on the extremely flexible and versatile magic system that the Everlasting uses.
The only drawback is that it only covers a fraction of the wide range of magickal paths that are possible in the game. However as with the other books, it has been researched and draws on many sources and as such is an excellent resource, not only for the Everlasting, but for any RPG that is based off of the mythology and folklore of our earth.
I highly recommend this book (as well as the other Everlasting books) for anyone who is seriously into RPG's, especially those who are big into the interactive story development and are interested in playing the part of a flawed hero (instead of the super-hero who is "perfect" but who does not exist except in shallow imaginations) struggling to become something great and overcome challenges. For those who are into the hack-n-slash games or the juvenile games such as D&D (d20), don't bother, as this game is targeted at mature gamers, those with imagination and a firm grasp on mythology and the concept of the "Hero's Journey".

Adding Sorcery of all kinds to a modern fantasy/horror game

This book is essential for anyone who truly enjoys the Secret World setting of the Everlasting.
Included are the Osirians, but they honestly are only the first bit of the book. You get details on all kinds of real world type magick that is practiced by mortals and eldritch alike.
Very interesting read, and extremely useful for anyone who wants to add sorcery (including DARK SCIENCE!!! my favorite!) to their Everlasting game.
The only reason I give it 4 stars is that I wanted more details on the mage societies and Shadowearth. Still, even without those nitpicky bits, this book is nearly essential to round out magick in your Everlasting game.
Awesome!

I have a lot of books on this subject, but this is the easiest and most clearly written book for the beginning home recordist
I have seen. Mitch knows his business and also how to teach. He includes all necessary technical terms but explains them
through simple analogy. Its almost like having a personal tutor there to help you. He anticipates and provides soulutiions
for common problems that may, and probably will, arise. The book is thorough in that he takes you from shopping for and buying
the right equipment, to recording and burning your music CD and distributing it online.
A Must Have for all interested in learning home recording!!!

Make Music Now!: Putting Your Studio Together, Recording Songs, Making CDs, and Distributing Online by Mitch Gallagher (Editor)
This inexpensive book is one of the best small recording/music production information sources I have read. It covers many topics, with enough detail to give a firm understanding for the novice-intermediate home recording musician, while at the same time not overwhelming him/her. It is easy to read, well divided by topic and extremely affordable. It is also thin enough to pop into your laptop case. I'd highly recommend buying a copy to anyone confused by the ANY key concepts in recording or home music production. This is a MUST have. I work for a public school system, and this book would also make an excellent text for any teachers interested in adding recording/MIDI to their curriculum.BUY IT!

I highly reccommend Julie Patton's Maximizing Your Studio's Potential. It is a wonderful tool for students and teachers to
track a student's progress, accomplishments and help to motivate intellegent practice sessions that are goal oriented. These
books are very well laid out, contain great detail and are appropriate for students of all levels. The skill evaluation tests
correspond with the most popular method books for each instrument (Arban for trumpet, trombone and tuba/euphonium and Kopprasch
for horn). Julie Patton has given the music world another great tool with which to work!

Maximizing Your Studio's Potential: Instructor's Manual by Julie Patton is an outstanding guide that can help both teachers
and students realize the full potential of each lesson. The manual assists the instructor and the student in identifying goals
and objectives for every lesson - for the semester - for the year. Student skill evaluation and practice analysis is also
provided. This manual can aid in the development of productive lesson assignments and offer less subjective assessment possibilities.
It creates an atmosphere in which the student and the instructor participate in the learning process and helps each student
better realize his/her potential in the studio situation. By Donald L. Hamann, Professor of Music Education and Coordinator
of Music Education - University of Arizona

Maximizing Your Studio's Potential: The Student Log Book by Julie Patton opens the door to an interactive guide that enables
students to more fully understand their abilities, take responsibility for their own progress, and better understand the path
upon which their performance goals and objectives are based. Students using Patton's guide will find they can create, develop,
and/or reinforce meaningful dialogue with their instructors. Student and instructor awareness, focus, assessment, and development
are all facilitated by this text. I highly recommend it for every student studying a brass instrument. Donald L. Hamann, Professor
