I was not sure what to expect on ordering this book.Im so glad I did.its perfect for my needs..it gives everything from materials used for each..painting...why...and all techniques.I do watercolor and stamping and arcylic painting..this is perfect for my needs ..oil painting is also included..this is a treasure...and has history on miniature paintings included..its a pretty book..lots of color pictures..well worth the price..B.W.

I bought this book for my husband last summer when we had a fantastic trip through beatiful New Zealand.

He enjoyed it so much he passed it on to me. Much to my surprise (and delight!) there's not a lot of golf in it.

Okay, so he plays the odd game but it's really about the adventures New Zealander Justin Brown has as he travels around the US meeting strange folk. My fav. chapter would have to be the clown wedding in Richmond closely followed by Miss Iva, the 91 year old (young!) beach queen from Tybee Island.

I was glad to see the wonderful hospitality we received in New Zealand was recipricated for Justin.

If you just want to sit back and have a laugh I throughly recommend this book. It's funny, crazy and off the wall.

This book is completely hilarious! I couldn't stop laughing from the moment I picked up the book. Not recommended for those looking to improve their skills, but it's a great book with a very witty take on common tennis gripes and pet peeves. Finally, here's someone who's put into words what you've thought all along since first picking up your racket. You'll find yourself agreeing with - and applauding -this funny, straight-talking book.

This book is a gem. For anyone interested in poker humor or classic cartoons, Bert Link's "That Little Game" is a rare find. The cartoons are all significantly cleaned up from their original state and look great. Highly recommended.

I liked the way they didn't try to cut corners in publishing this calendar by combining Saturday and Sunday into one page. It is a 365 day calendar. The sayings are very funny.

My mom just has to receive an Erma calender every year! Could not find one this year and I did hear about it on Christmas eve, it doesnt matter that there might not be any out there, I am still expected to find it for her. She is 85 years old and keeps all seven of her children on their toes. She can relate to almost everything she says and has kept her calenders since 1971. I can hardly beleive it myself but she frequently sends me a note and on the reverse side is a page from an Erma Calender. It is very funny and most often true things that happen.

Since I'm named Thomas/Tom, my mother gave me a copy of this book for Christmas around the bicentennial (1976). It is full of fun jokes, funny stories that you can read and learn. Most of them are unknown by gen-xers on forward (like me). There are a lot of old folk jokes from the 1800-1930s. Some will astound you. Or at least your kids... who probably have never heard jokes like these. This book will appeal to "old school" traditionalists more than others. But I invite you to try it. I'll never forget "One Bright Day in the Middle of the Night..." the story where every sentence contradicts the sentence before it.

I lost my original copy of this book and bought it on Amazon. My children are happy that I replaced it. I forgot to mention that there are illustrations too. Kids like them too. The age that this book would appeal to the most is probably 10-14. Per my experience, 5-6 years olds enjoy many of the jokes in this book and can learn some to tell to their friends. I am enjoying reading through them again now and then as an adult too.

I got this book for my 7 year old who loves mazes and puzzles. Most of these are too difficult for him to figure out on his own. We like to sit down and work on them together. That seems to work the best for us. The puzzles are challenging. There is a key in the back to help you out if you get stuck. This book will be around our house for along time. As he gets older he will be able to work them out himself. Great for car trips. Good luck.

I get these for my husband! He loves them! He is a hockey pplayer and he enjoyed this one!
