I spent endless hours looking for a job once I graduated from college. A few times I wanted to give up and just stay home. But a college friend of mine told me about this book and my luck changed. I revised my cover letter and resume and the next thing I knew I got three interviews and three offers. Thank you Bob for helping me land the job of my dreams!!!

This book was my savior during my job search as I was preparing to graduate from college. Every book I looked at for help on resumes was designed for someone who already had professional work experience. This book shows you how to take your part time college jobs and recreational experiences and turn it into intensely desirable stuff. It shows examples of resumes by college major, with infinite examples and explanations. It was so successful for me, in fact, that I now buy it as a present for all my friends when they graduate and head into the work force.

Rescue your company from Asian competition

If you don't buy this book and then 15 more for your staff, you probably aren't qualified to save your company from Asian competition? This guy has been there done that and what he proposes is not just "word salad". It works and creates a common worthy goal for your company while all your employees work together to get there.

Once you read this and apply it to your company, you will be hooked...and need a basket to catch the dollars coming down out of the sky! I know, we did something very similar..whithout the benefit of his guidance. It would have saved us years had we had Mariotti's roadmap. If you aren't willing to walk the walk, don't bother reading The Complexity Crisis because it requires leadership and changing the way things happen.

This book could save your company

This book is a great overview for someone who is about to become part of a cassette/media ministry or even someone who has experience in media ministry. There are alot of inspiring testamonies given that are both encouraging and insightful.

I really enjoyed reading about the impact that the cassette ministry can have on the church as well as how it can be used as a tool in witnessing.

I really appreciated the technical overview/details that were provided in this book. This is great information for someone that is new to the ministry. The book tells about the technical details of cassettes. It also talks about maintaining cassettes and duplicating equipment.

The book is easy to understand and follow for those interested in the procedure to begin a cassette ministry. The author is also in the business of assisting and supplying anyone with the products and information to be successful. I have personally done a small amount of buisness with them. They have been exceptionally helpful. As a Professor of Marketing I have begun to tape all my lectures on a very modest bases. The top of the line equiptment can be expensive. I would recomend the book for the beginner that requires common sense answers. The book is focused on church ministries but has some application for others.

In rating the book I have rated it 5 stars for the targeted market. The rating is specific in relation to a church cassette ministry. The book could also serve as a book for those in the congregation to read that may have questions. I asked Mr. Berguson to send me a copy of the book and I would review it and give it to a library in his name. He had enough confidence to send the book. I did learn and I am going to give the book to a library.

Although this reference does not discuss physiological plausible computation models, it provides a fairly easy to read yet serious introduction to conventional parallel computation architectures.

Its a book worth reading by really interested candidates.

The person who has gone through the book thouroughly need not to say that its worth having such a excellent book. The problems given at the end of each chapter dwell oneself into the deeper understanding of the subject and it would have been nice if you could make the Solutions Manual available on internet.

Excellent introduction to RISC
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2001-12-11
The book is an exceptionally clearsighted introduction to the topic of RISC. With many lookbacks on existing processors the authors weighs the pros and cons on almost every aspect of the design. I especially enjoyed the lengthy discussions of what an operating system (unix in this case) expect from the hardware and how the two cooperate in the best possible way.

It's discussion on different file systems does not directly have a bearing on the RISC architecture but fits in very snugly in giving a most complete general overview of a computer system. There's more to it than a good processor.

Read it! You'll learn a lot - not only about RISCs - but also what has driven hardware designers in the microprocessor industry for decades.

Good introduction of RISC CPU design. This book illustrates some of the architectural trade offs that real designers make when introducing a new CPU architecture. I especially like the fact that the authors went into great detail about the software and hardware aspects of the CPU design.

Geoff has created a work of art through years of dedicated research. He has found many of the links that were lost in secrecy all those years ago, and he is very knowledgable on all facets of Special Operations and the Army as a whole. This is a must have for any person who has any interest in the history of SF units from creation to present.

Dove's text surpasses the two other books I've read on fundraising in numerous ways. He provides a thorough, well-organized approach to fundraising in general and with extensive attention both to the various types of campaigns and to the many components that make up a successful program. Furthermore, Dove cites countless sources of research and practitioner experience, so that his admonitions about what to do and how to do it have a clear rationale and empirical evidence undergirding them. While I'm sure I'll continue to read other texts to delve deeper into details, I can't imagine I'll need to read another overview in the near future, because Dove's work has completely met that need for me.

Help for the Confessing
Helpful Votes: 10 out of 10 total.
Review Date: 2002-04-15
Although written to help priests be more effective and gentle, helpful confessors by gaining a deeper understanding of what their people are saying (or trying to say or hide )in confession this book can also help laity confused about the sacramment of reconciliation. It can show you clearer and more precise ways to express yourself, or how to ask your confessor for the kind of guidance this St. Meinrad's professor would have him offer. Confession is difficult for priests, Father Stasiak points out, because it is the only sacrament they can not watch others priests administer.

Good basic training
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2006-08-10
The Sacrament of Reconciliation seems to be one of the less-attended to in seminary training. Rites of Initiation and Eucharist receive much more attention, which is rightly deserved. A Confessor's Handbook provides good training and assistance for seminarians wishing to learn more about this sacrament, as well as to continuing clergy looking to become better confessors.

The general approach can be summed up as, "Why is this person here?" "From what are they seeking to be freed?" The methodology is valid, as it addresses the pastoral needs of the situation; it is helpful, as it immediately cuts through the nice, but irrelevant conversations; and it's is simple, which makes is easy to implement and follow.

Also included in the back is a helpful bibliography of other books on the subject, for those who wish to do further reading.

Review Date: 2000-05-06
This book is based on extensive studies of the effects of computer-based communication technology - e-mail, distribution lists, bulletin boards, and computer conferences - through field research as well as social and psychological experiments. Sproull and Kiesler, both I believe trained as experimental social psychologists, believe that computer-based communication is radically changing the ways people interact with one another, much like nineteenth century communications technologies as the telephone, typewriter, and railroad transformed social and business lifestyles. With new computer-based communications, the authors argue, organizations are becoming more flexible and fluid, people increasingly think of themselves as part of the larger organization as opposed to mere members of a single department, and managers are working more democratically with employees.

The early work of this book was basic research on groups, especially on the topics of group dynamics, communication, and decision making. When Reagan was elected president, Kiesler had just come to C.M.U. and the N.S.F. held up her grant on standards setting groups. So, for fun, she began to explore computer networks, the experiments of which "revealed many interesting phenomena, which we eventually wrote about in books and articles--on flaming, electronic group dynamics, changes in decision making and employee participation, and new kinds of teamwork." Connections: New Ways of Working in the Networked Organization, summarizes that research.
