I eat out 7 days a week, at least 2 meals a day. Being something of an amatuer cook myself, I know how much butter is lavished on restaurant meals (even the italians use it) -- enough to earn you a coronary bypass by the age of 12. So what a lifesaver (literally) to find this book! Jones and company have done exhaustive reasearch to find the healthiest food in L.A. Not a lot of attention is paid to outlying areas (Torrence, Lakewood, Norwalk and the like; but there probably isn't much there anyway), but most restaurant guides stick to L.A. Proper (Downtown/Wilshire/Bev Hills/Hollywood/Ventura Blvd etc.). There are also great tips for eating at restaurants of which I'm already a patron -- fat-free lunch at Chin Chin! Included are many coupons to set you on your course of healthy dining. I hope this books sells well enough to merit a yearly update.

Beautiful coffee table style book with great pictures and descriptions of small, intimate hotels throughout Provence. A great companion to the Relais & Chateau guide.

Must have for all of you "Peakbaggers". Every single 4000 footer or higher in NY and New England is described inside this incredible book. My only suggestion would be an update that includes all of the Catskill's 3,500' peaks.

Getting close to graduation and wondering how to pay for college? High School Senior's Guide to Merit and Other No-Need Funding provides a handy list of references for financial aid which are based on merit rather than need: chapters cover the various organizations which award such scholarships and grants, defining eligibility and the financial information needed to apply.

I just read that the digital version is the first digital book admitted into in the Library of Congress. Anyway, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Wireless Web is a guide for ebusiness executives with an emphasis on practical results. It shows how to execute a wireless Web strategy. I liked that it covered what the obstacles are and especially how to overcome them. Highly recommended!

An excellent resource guide for those interested in holistic health care. This guide covers contacts on every issue from naturopathy to chiropractic care. This guide is so interesting and can increase your interest in alternative healing such as crystals, etc.
