Perfect way to display your State Quarter collectionReview Date: 2008-06-29
There is a slot in each state for its quarter (or next to it for the smaller NE states), there are facts about each state, it is pretty durable and it folds for easy storage.
My boys both love their maps. I could not be happier with my purchase.

Great price, but a little large!Review Date: 2008-06-21
There are a few things that I didn't like about the folder. First off, it's size. It does state the dimensions but I neglected to pay attention to that. It is rather large when I was hoping to get something more along the size of a large book. The other thing I didn't like are the 4 extra little spaces at the bottom of the map for you to put extra coins in. At first I was excited, thinking it was a spot to put the 4 new nickels that have recently been released. I thought that was such an ingenious idea to include that so the coin collection could all be in one place. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the holes were too large for nickels to fit. At that point, I was very confused as to what those holes were for so I went to the internet to find my answer. The 4 spaces along the bottom are there for you to put your favorite state quarters in. So you would have one state quarter in the actual state map and an extra on the bottom. I didn't like this, especially after my excitment about thinking they were for the nickels! Plus, how can I select my favorite state quarter when I liked them all just the same?!
That being said, I would still purchase this product. It is a great value for a spot to stick your quarter collection. I would never want to spend more than this ($7.99) for a quarter folder/book, especially when they are for my kids and I needed to buy multiple ones. This price was just right and it is a great tool and quarter holder for the kids.

The Culmination of a Dream. How the series SHOULD end!Review Date: 2005-02-11
This book is the perfect example of how you close a story and give the reader a sense of closure and satisfaction. It ends perfectly. After reading these great, old generation TB books, I'm even more saddened at the fact that the publisher, Harper Collins is planning on terminating the series abruptly after book #72. Please HELP SAVE THOROUGHBRED! Go to www.whitebrookfarm.com to find out more. I would hope that Harper will listen to the faithful readers of this series and give us the closure that we deserve. Don't end TB like this! We found out how it ended for Ash and Wonder, let us find out about Mel, Chris, Allie, and Sammy's twins too! Please SAVE TB!

An Amazing ReadReview Date: 2007-12-14
Entertaining Review Date: 2008-07-02
I enjoyed this novel. The main character was someone you knew well after a few chapters, and I found myself rooting for her, her friends and her love interests. Her adventures were exciting enough, and her love story was affecting. Once I began to care about the characters, I could easily ignore the problems with this book. I spent several late evenings reading this.
The problems are not too terrible. The author often tells the reader details that should be revealed through the story. The prose is slightly awkward throughout. There is a lot of coincidence in the plot. Some of the coincidences are so improbable that they began to annoy me.
There is also a good deal of historical detail in the story, which I enjoyed. The action unfolds in Berlin, Vienna, and Prague- in real places which are well described. Now I feel like seeing those places for myself. I feel as if I know them intimately.
This is the first book in a series: The Zion Covenant. I will read the next book in the series, because I am hooked. I want to know what happens to everyone!
Fantastic Series. A real eye opener. Review Date: 2008-06-18
Well researched and well writtenReview Date: 2007-08-20
Of course that's not what happens during the year that follows. As Theo Lindheim moves to get his family to safety, but fails to get himself out of Germany successfully, history in the making catches up with Elisa and forces her to make choices she never imagined anyone might have to face.
This is that rare book, a "faith based" novel that's worth any reader's attention. Well researched and well written, VIENNA PRELUDE moves along at a steady clip and then races to a suitably tense climax. The authors understand what far too many writers (especially of faith based fiction) don't "get" at all: that characters' actions must flow from who they are, not from what the book's chosen theme requires them to do. While the coincidences that keep parting and reuniting Elisa and American journalist John Murphy become strained from overuse, somewhere in the tale's second half, and a few of the characters' lines of dialog sound more like a sermon than an individual's words in conversation, the overall effect is just what it should be. The reader quickly becomes invested in knowing what will happen to Elisa and the others, and the triumph of their faith is all the more real because of the struggles that living it costs them. I expect to read more in this series, and that's the best compliment one can pay to any author.

Robert Martin is a master at explaining OOAD concepts and applying them to the Agile methodology. For instance, the Agile practices mandate certain practices that need to be implemented in the upfront design and conception of the project. This is in contrast to the methodologies that were hitherto used that emphaisized methodology over design.
This book provides that point of fusion. A great achievement indeed! Concepts such as dependency injection and the Single Responsibility Principle were explained before they became mainstream design tenets.

FABULOUSLY 'CHANTING!!!!Review Date: 2005-10-12
This book is the second in the Chrestomanci Quartet, and is my favorite of the four. The story is about a boy named Christopher Chant who discovers that he has magical powers, and, in due time, a truly amazing and exciting life ahead of him. Buy this book! I assure you that you won't regret it;~)
A Death Wish, Anyone?Review Date: 2006-07-15
Christopher Chant starts out as a normal boy who doesn't quite understand everything that's going on around him. Christopher never even bothered to tell people, ecspecially his feuding parents and nannies, about his dreams and the worlds he visits in them. But one day, Christopher's new nanny discovers all of the objects Christopher brings back from his dreams, and informs Christopher's Uncle Ralph, a charming enchanter, about them. It turns out that Christopher is a spirit traveler, or a person who visits the twelve related worlds in their dreams. Uncle Ralph soon recruits Christopher for many "experiments" where Christopher must bring him back various goods from the related worlds, and Christopher is only too happy to oblige.
On these experiments, Christopher soon loses many lives at such an obvious rate that he realizes he has nine lives and is a powerful enchanter, even though Christopher can barely manage the simplest of spells. Christopher is soon sent to live in Chrestomanci Castle for training, and he hates it. He would much rather play cricket than become the next Chrestomanci, but everything changes when Christoper realizes that his "perfect" uncle is really an inter-world illegal smuggler, and Christopher so happens to be his partner-in-crime even though he didn't know what he was doing in the first place.
The story is told with Jones' usual quirky prose and humor. Many readers who read the first book will smile as the story goes on and many of Chrestomanci's background is cleverly explained. Christopher as a character is skillyfully progressed from a naive and somewhat cold child to an aware and powerful enchanter. However, the story, as much as I would like to deny it, does suffer some problems. The beginning is a very long drawl, as well as the middle, and nothing interesting happens till Christopher finally arrives at Chrestomanci castle. From there to the ending its a smooth ride. Unfortunately, it appears that Jones didn't know what to do with her ending as its very quick and jumbled. For the last fifty pages, everything is unusally described and very confusing. I just wish that the story had ended with a strong conclusion rather than the sentence "that is really all, except for a letter that arrived for Christopher from Japan soon after New Year ..."
Even though the ending was a jumbled mess, we're still talking about Diana Wynne Jones here, and her brilliant writing and humorous details makes even a very weakly plotted book enjoyable. While I did not enjoy "The Lives of Christopher Chant" as much as I enjoyed the first book, readers everywhere are sure to enjoy how Chrestomanci went from a timid boy into a powerful enchanter.
A Real Page-Turner!Review Date: 2005-10-26
Strong things about this book are that the story line moves along quickly, so your interest stays captive. You'll also appreciate how Dianne Wynne Jones's story line is unique. No other author has ever written anything like her "Place Between!" Her strong characters really pull the story together. Take "The Christomancy" (The Magic Governor) for instance. It seems like he was always a strict and stern man born to be "The Christomancy." However, he actually started out like Christopher, angry and bewildered.
More details would improve The Lives of Christopher Chant. Having additional information would make it easier to visualize Asheth's Temple, and why The Living Asheth (the girl who acts as a channel for the god Asheth's power) wanted to get away. More explanation about why silver stops Christopher from working magic would be helpful. Was it Christopher's dad's fault that silver stops him operating magic?
Rush out and buy The Lives of Christopher Chant, it's a page turner! The story line is new and interesting. It is a magic book, and you can never tell what's going to happen! I hope you don't lose your nine lives as quickly as Christopher Chant!

With books as long as Harry Potter
This one goes four seventy seven
For kids above ten or eleven
There's danger lurking everywhere
Friend or foe is now unclear
With darkness taking over light
And fewer folk to lead the fight
A plague of shadows spreads its wings
O'er Nipsies and all other things
There's no time left for talk or tact
Just find the missing artifact
Fantastic creatures, deadly foes
Centaurs with arrows and bows
See them change before your eyes
The dark forces are on the rise
Knight of Dawn or Evening Star
No one knows which one you are
Or is it what everyone thinks?
Can the traitor be the Sphinx?
Vanessa's in the Quiet Box
Dare they open up the locks?
Oh, the secrets she could tell
If released from her private hell
New characters and distant places
Returning long forgotten faces
Battle lines are drawn and crossed
Could it be Fablehaven's lost?
Before you end up all bemused
Read one and two, you'll be enthused
This is the best, book three of five
What next will Brandon Mull contrive?
I want to see this on the screen
Drinking in each thrilling scene
Surround sound and soundly cast
From Fablehaven to the last

A Timeless Love ... Sensual Passion ...A Must ReadReview Date: 2008-04-17
A gunslinger with one name and one purpose .. To avenge the tragic deaths of his loved ones
A innocent timid young woman trying to forget the tragedy that took her father from her leaving her in a cocoon of insecurities
Unknown to them, the two tragedies have them linked , forever bound to each other
Four years later... Chandos the gunslinger loaner enters the little town of Rockley, Kansas. Where the beautiful Courtney Harte is living with her stepmother. Immediately Courtney sees the stranger and feels a warmth of safety in his eyes..... Chandos's need to protect the innocent beauty leads them on a path to Waco, Texas. To find her once thought, dead father.
I loved this book .. It had all the qualities of a romance novel, A hero of Strength, Integrity, and the Unspoken words of intense passion . A heroine of Inner beauty, to match the beauty on the outside ,the hidden Courage and Strength that busts out with her maturing
The timeline was nice JL takes the reader on a ride through the old west with its vast assortment of open land and she grabs you with the feel of traveling the tough terrain with nothing but trees and rivers and the occasional threat that stirs the feelings of Unbridled passion when you see, I mean really see that the person your traveling with is yours ....
Read the book!!
It will leave you Breathless and wanting more!!!
BRILLIANT STORYTELLING!!!Review Date: 2006-01-16
Chandos was the perfect hero. This is my all time favorite Johanna Linsey romance. The story had everything you could ask for in a romance - adventure, tension, suspense, danger and above all love and passion!
I read it in one sitting, (till 5am) I couldn't put it down. I wish I could read it again and again as if I hadn't read it before. I try, I read it every year or so. This is the kind of story that you hold in your heart for a long time after you have finshed reading.
A pure gem!
Classic romance with a great plot!Review Date: 2005-09-08
The relationship between Courtney and Chandos was electric. Their chemistry so perfect. Chandos was the ultimate hero. Is there anything he couldn't do? Courtney was a lady through and though. She was written very realistically for a lady of her time, struggling with the feelings Chandos created in her and also with allowing herself to give in to him.
The plot was great as well and made me turn page after page in anticipation of what would happen next. I enjoyed reading about life in the west during that time period. Ways of surviving the travel in Indian territory and the hardships of the vast empty land were truly an interesting read.
I'm all for a happy ending and Johanna aimed to please. Never a boring moment. Definetely worth the money and the time to read. I'm reading its sequal now and hoping it will be as good. Keeping fingers crossed.

Great love StoryReview Date: 2006-04-19
Chandos is the hottest fictional character ever written, in my opinion. I REALLY WISH HE WERE REAL! What's so engaging and memorable about him is that he's extremely manly, strong-willed, and even sometimes brutal, but he is very protective of Courntney, and "gentle when it matters". It's so cute the way he calls her "Cateyes"!
Courtney, the woman he falls in love with, is adorable. She starts out quite shy and timid around him, which is understandable, considering he's a studly, macho gunfighter-type guy. It's a wonder she even manages to ask the intimidating Chandos to guide her across Indian territory in the first place. However, as their journey progresses, I was glad to see courtney show a side that wasn't originally apparent-very passionate and brave.
It's very romantic how these people meet after a chance encounter four years prior, and fall in love. The plot was deep, complex, and greatly enriched by the story of chandos's past and his struggle for revenge and justice. Some might say the ending is sappy, but I loved it! this book is terrific from the first sentense (even though it's kind of graphic!) to the last, including all the components of a great and memorable romance: passion, true love, adventure, heartbreak, an engrossing plot, interesting secondary characters, a happy not sappy ending, an engaging leading lady, and an extremely hot, on-fire, out-of-this-worldly attractive hero. READ IT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED! YOU WILL END UP READING IT OVER AND OVER!

Captivating Page Turner - Prepare for some Late Nights!Review Date: 2003-05-16
Reynolds hooked me through his mix of metaphysical tension, sensual power and excellent character development.
This book, set in a very unique area near my own home, "called" me to get out and live part of it. I witnessed some of the facts behind this great fiction.
Being a local living near Mayport, I actually drove through the small town of Mayport on my lunch hour searching for the sand hill and the magical Oak. While I did not find the specific Oak on my first quest, my heart raced when I saw a high sand hill similar to the one described in the book. I saw Mr.King's house, Singleton's seafood shack and rode the Ferry to the other side of the St.Johns while looking back at the town of Mayport eyeing the tall Oaks feeling the breeze in my face...
I will read his trilogy...Mullet Run and then Oak Babies. I can't wait to see what happens with the beautiful and mysterious Oak women: Jesse, Margie and Sophia
This Hard Cover edition is a must-buy.Review Date: 2002-12-26
This story takes place in old Florida. The setting is a little, isolated fishing village called "Mayport." It was before the naval base of the same name was built. Mayport was accessible only by a long, narrow road which wound mile after mile beneath the huge Live Oak trees and Palmetto palms which stood on either side. The inhabitants of the village were simple people, some who were very, very good and some who were very, very bad. A mammoth, enchanted oak tree, perched on top of a sand hill, loomed over the village and held sway over the superstitious fishermen and their families. Hair-raising scenarios interweave with sexual fantasy, mystery and intrigue as the story progresses. G. W. Reynolds is a gifted teller of tales and this rip-roaring story will keep the reader riveted to the pages from start to finish. This is one you don't want to miss.
