"Daddy in Training" is a delightful story, fresh and animated, with some of the truest characters yet to be written. Rory is a heroine so down to earth she could be any one of us, and Seth is a hero we would all love to meet...and know. Even if you don't care for your romances loaded with kids, these children are a joy. The dialogue is snappy, and frequently made me laugh out loud. Yet, with the barest choice words, Ms. Bardsley evoked a sharp breath and twinge in my chest for the heartache our hero and heroine experienced. More, the love scenes were fresh. I enjoyed this book immensely, will read it again, and look forward to the sequel, "Bride in Training." I will definitely buy Ms. Bardsley's other books.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish. The characters came alive for me as real people, with authentic problems and emotions. I especially liked the portrayal of the children, who made me laugh and cry. The author's style was easy to read with snappy pacing. Although humorous, the book was also poignant -- my kind of read.

Fantastic resource for dancers, dance teachers, therapists

This book (in the second edition) is a fantastic resource for dancers, dance teachers, Pilates instructors, and physical therapists in training. It covers a lot of functional anatomy as it relates to dance. The first 2/3 of the book are devoted to anatomy. The last 1/3 is devoted to articles on various topics related to dancer health and conditioning.

There is an excellent article on Pectoralis Minor Syndrome - a condition that I have not seen addressed in other texts outside the physical therapy arena.

The chapter on Somatics, Relaxation, and Efficiency is very useful, with the exception of the article on Pilates, which reads like advertising copy for the Pilates Studio in NY. Mary Bond writes the article on Rolfing which is an excellent article for introducing Rolfing to people who may not have been exposed to the method before.

For ballet teachers!!!

A must have for dancers who want to know their body

Dr. Fitt's book fills an important gap in the education of all dancers. Anatomical knowledge is of crucial importance to dancers and this book qualifies as both a basic reference for beginners and as an important resource for intermediate/advanced students of the body. It is easy to read but is not lacking in depth. My only complaint (about the first edition) is that all of her dancers are headless (there is no chapter on the head - Alexander would roll over in his grave!). This minor oversight should in no way take away from the monumental acheivement of this most excellent book

This book presents the swings of several "great ones", as analyzed by David Leadbetter. Knowing that each individual has a unique swing, Leadbetter points out one or two key points about a particular champion's swing that he believes should be emulated. The format is very readible, with a short synopsis of a player's career and style, followed by two frame-by-frame series (from behind, as well as from the front of the golfer), and then concluded by the key features, as well as drills on how to incorporate this in your game. Since different approaches work for different people, I'm sure everyone will be able to benefit from at least some of the key points that Leadbetter addresses from each champion's swing.

the techniques in the book really help my son with his acuracy
in pitching and in his ability to have a delivery that is consistent. For kids who struggle with their control the techniques can do wonders. I have seen the results not only in my son but also other pitchers in his league.i would say that
even for those few pitchers who have good control that reading
the book could help them understand more about what it is that they do naturaly.thus helping them should they struggle on the mound

This is a fantastic book! What a wonderful "how-to" guide for the beginning pitcher, or anyone wanting to improve their pitching performance. The book is easily understood by the young reader and can be translated into usable skills on the field. Using this method of pitching, we have watched our son take the mound with a new level of confidence and continue to improve his pitching performance all season. I recommend this guide to any coach or parent wanting to prepare their pitcher with the basic fundamentals necessary to be successful on the mound.

Developing a great pitcher begins with this book!

As parents, reading The Dead Eye Pitching Technique was one of the best things we've done for our son's baseball future!

The technique taught in this book is great for anyone wanting to be a pitcher or improve their pitching performance. Parents and coaches can use the technique taught in this book to train and produce GREAT pitchers. The Dead Eye Pitching technique is a start-to-finish systematic approach that teaches kids to throw strikes consistently. The dead eye technique gives pitchers a system of basic skills to learn from and always be able to come back to. The kids learn not only the physical motions of pitching but the theory behind the motions. The book also addresses the mental preparation needed to be a great pitcher.

We have watched, with enthusiasm, major improvements in our son's pitching as he applies the fundamentals taught through the dead-eye technique. In just a couple of months he has gone from being an unpredictable "ball-thrower" to becoming an accurate "strike-thrower." He has also gained speed on his pitch by applying the technique. He is truly becoming a pitcher. The techniques and mental preparation he has learned from this book have made a world of difference in his pitching performance.

I recommend this book to coaches, parents and those hoping to become great pitchers. Developing a great pitcher begins with this book!

I am an architect that has been trying to understand what I'm about to get into in being part of a design-build team. I found this book really easy to read and it gave me some perspectives on liability, especially ownership of my design documents. It's written in a case-note summary approach, so I could quickly find the point of the case and then see what the facts are. I liked the author's practical suggestions on what lessons are to be learned. The approach is a nice balance to the other books out there on design-build, such as Bill Quatman's book on Design-Build for Design Professionals, which I also really like and recommend to architects and engineers.

As an attorney with an interest in construction-related court decisions, I have found this book to be a valuable resource. Mr. Loulakis has made a tremendous effort to research, catalog, and describe the various decisions issued by courts and boards of contract appeals arising from design-build projects during 2001. This book is useful to everyone involved in the design-build process, including owners, contractors, design professionals, and attorneys. It appears that the author's goal is to write a similar book every year on this subject. I applaud his efforts and look forward to the 2002 edition.

Great stuff!

I am a public owner who is actively involved in trying to manage design-build projects. Loulakis is one of the leading authorities on the legal issues in design-build and I have each of his previous 6 editions of Design-Build Lessons Learned. They are well-written, easy to understand and provide valuable lessons. What I appreciate the most is that this series of publications provides the only, as far as I know, listing of all design-build cases that arise in a given year. The 2001 edition has a number of unique design-build cases, particularly in the public sector, which is just what I needed. Looking forward to the 2002 edition already!!

Ultimate Set of Class Notes

Review Date: 2007-01-29
I am an avid amateur student of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Because I do only independent study, I find this book a little bit terse for my needs. The material of this book is very complete, and it is presented in the most useful possible form for reference and review. Almost all the information is put into self-explanatory tables that essentially anyone could follow. The organization is so perfect that nothing could possibly be any better. It is like the ultimate set of class notes from a very good course on diagnosis. However, if you don't HAVE a course to go to and if you don't HAVE a teacher to enlarge a little bit on the content, you will probably need a bigger, wordier text (like Tie-Tao Deng's text) to go with this one. Still, the organization is so exceptional that this book has to be of considerable value to any student of TCM. (If you are already a master, you don't need any book, do you?)

I just started administering Exchange and i needed a book that would help me prepare for the worst. This book right from the start showed how to Recover Exchange the right way. I use to worry everyday that the Exchange Server would go down, now i have no fears...

A lot of lab work but well worth it!

Review Date: 2006-09-27
The book was referred to me by a friend who had taken the course that the book is based on. I'm not very good at sitting in a classroom, so I decided to take the plunge and find out what I was missing. The labs gradually take you through all of the scenarios we had to go through when our server crashed. You use LoadSim to load mail and build the logs, which is quite interesting and works well as a learning tool. It takes about 30-40 hours to complete (It took me 31) and I think it's time well spent. If you haven't worked with Exchange in the past, it might be hard to follow. However, if you work with Exchange on a day-to-day basis then this book is for you. After finishing all of the labs, I can say the book gave me a complete picture as to the best recovery methods to use for each type of database failure. I just wish I had found it and done the labs before my server took a dump. It would have saved me a big headache and 7 hours of downtime. I highly recommend the book for people who manage exchange and need to reduce their downtime.

Great book for the dedicated Exchange Admin

Review Date: 2006-08-10
The book is definitely setup as a training manual for the working Admin. It's one lab after another going through each type of recovery in detail. It takes a while to do all of the labs and you'll need to know more than just the basics to get through them. You can tell the author wrote it with this in mind. If your job is to manage exchange and you really want to know the ins and outs of exchange databases, then this is a great training course that you can do on your own.

I like reading business books, but some of them are quite dry. That was one of the best aspects of this book. The selling strategies are outstanding. Beyond good. But wow! I don't think I have ever read a business book that was as much fun to read as this one. Each chapter and key point is introduced with a short story from history that is well written and relevant to the point. I felt myself wanting to skip ahead and just read all the history examples. Fantastic Book

The DNA Selling Method is unquestionably unique. The fact that it is so simple does rather beg the question "why has someone not come up with this before?"
It is designed specifically for the modern high-tech sales environment and I had my entire sales force read the book and go through the training. The difference has been staggering and the training is still fresh in our minds almost 12 months later. It has been just amazing watching my sales team turn into "great listeners" and the imformation they extract from our clients has sent our close ratios through the roof. We are now able to predict our quarterly performance to within 5%, which means we now have one system that enables us to predict where we will finish. This has led to increased credibility for our team and a much more confident management team. If you are a sales professional or manager, this is an excellent methodology to implement (it is also very amusing and a fast and easy read).
