For year's my family has gone without traditions and celebrations of any kind. Everytime we gather as a family it is a disaster! This book has brought me hope that there can be a time in my life where we can gather together as a happy family and enjoy ourselves. If I don't have a copy of this book for my very own library, my family and I will suffer for all eternity. Please reprint this beautiful book!

I have read every book that Susan Ban Breathnach has written and have loved them all. However, Mrs. Sharp's Traditions is a jewel in today's world. It truly focuses on family traditions and celebrations and helps those of us who juggle career, family and home. It is a shame that this book is no longer in print. It took me 3 months to get it at our local library. I highly encourage the publisher to re-print.

I absolutely love this book! I bought it for my 5 year old son a month or so before Christmas. He is at the perfect age for it! He LOVES looking at Santa's map of his route on Christmas Eve, reading about the reindeer and their different personalities and much more. It is a beautiful and treasured book.

My son was always asking questions about Santa, the reindeers, his house, etc. Well, this book has all the answers. It's packed full of information on everything you can think of relating to Santa. The illustrations are beautiful and it has sturdy, cardboard-like pages. It has a lot of special features, like fold-out pages and little, separate books on some of the pages. It's one-of-a-kind and I can't imagine any kid not being thrilled with this book.

This book is delightful!! My children ages 4 and 6 loved it and we read it countless times throughout the holidays. It was also very enjoyable for ME!! There are maps of santa's route, details of the elves duties and lives, secrets about every room in Santa's workshop. The illustrations are brilliant. I intend to give this book to every child (and a couple of grown-ups)that I know for Christmas this year.

We've been reading all the 'Bear' books lately and this one too as sort of our Christmas in July. In this story Bear's friends try to keep him up so he can celebrate Christmas. But Bear is sleepy, very, very sleepy.

Wow, just adorable. Great gift idea. Great size book. I pull it out for Christmas and the kids LOVE it. It's such a sweet story of friendship. I love these sweet, wholesome stories. The illustrations are BEAUTIFUL as always with Karma's books. Even after we read it, the kids love to just look through it at the pictures and can read it to themselves that way. Really, I think each little home needs ALL the Bear books.

We have several Christmas books, and this is the favorite in our house. All of Bear's little woodland friends wake him up to join in all the Christmas Eve festivities. The story and illustrations are very simple, yet enchanting. I would love to climb in the pages and stay up for Christmas with Bear!

I purchased this book for my son after receiving the Bear Snores On as a gift. They are his absolute favorites. The pictures are beautiful and the words are lyrical and rhyming. I also like the way it subtly includes both the religious and secular sides of Christmas beneath the overall message of friendship and giving. He has MANY books, but wants me to read this one every night. It's so nice I din't mind.

As a father with a persistently open mind and a background in comparative mythology I was looking for stories and bedtime readings that encourage open thought when it comes to spiritual life. I have to say this is an outstanding book in that regard. Great visuals and good spiritual concepts without being biased one way or another. Great for a 4-7 year old I would think. My daughter is 6 and it's one of her favorites.

When Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield give each other perfect present for each other, they argue about who is being selfish. This leads to the dolls.
To help stop arguing, their grandparents give them twins dolls! Dolls are for babies, the think. Then when they solve a riddle, magic unfolds. An evil sorcerer and two princes are the main focus. Will the twins ever get back to Sweet Valley? And more important - will they ever see each other again?

I probably first read this book 6 or 7 years ago, but I make a point of reading it every year since then around Christmas time. I'm 19 now, and I still find this book extremely entertaining. When I was 12, this book inspired me to write a fantasy book. I'm still working on revising it to this day. I would recommend The Magic Christmas not only to Sweet Valley fans, but also to any fan of magic or fantasy.

This reading of A Child's Christmas in Wales is tops! It wouldn't be Christmas for us without hearing Dylan Thomas tell his story. He recounts a holiday of simple, family and neighborhood doings, and paints a picture of snowy, seaside Wales of the 1920's.

I love this story, as do all my children, who, from their earliest years, have not much struggled with the density of the language nor the scatteredness of the story. 5 of my 8 great-grandparents are from Wales, and the remaining 3 have the blood in them as well, so maybe it is like drinking water for us.:-D Our minds are all scattered, and words, even English words ;-D, fall on us in clumps....which makes it doubly hard to keep a clean house. LOL
The sort of prose-poetry imaginative way of seeing and describing the world unique to Welshwomen and Welshmen and Welshchildren, which does not seek to keep up the pretense that history can be separated from myth, story and desire, and which requires loving with eyes wide open to [and eventually embracing] one's own and others' bumps, bruises and idiosyncracies included, is extraordinarily well represented here. So, by the way, is speaking and listening to the close and Holy darkness!
My favorite version isthe one illustrated by Trina Schart Hyman. To me she has captured the complexity of the Welsh personality best, though i have nothing to say against the other illustrators praised in these reviews. I DO have a warning for you: there are some skinny versions flying about which do not have the poem-story complete and correct. This sort of work cannot suffer removal or modification, IMHO.

If you have read A Child's Christmas in Wales, you know that it has to be a classic. But you can't fully appreciate it until you have heard Dylan Thomas read it. What a deep, expressive, poetic voice. For years, I have listened to the recording on a Caedman record. It is wonderful to have it on a CD.

While you won't be able to write a novel, you can elevate having to write the ususal mumbo-jumbo because there's not much space. (I'm seeing the glass 1/2 full) The cards are special and interesting works of art. If you are tired of the same old boring cards, give these a try. I am now a loyal fan.

Robert Sabuda's pop-up Christmas cards are absolutely wonderful! I have to buy a 2nd set to keep for myself, or there's no way I'm going to be able to send any out to friends and family. I love that the greeting inside is "Season's Greetings" or "Happy Holidays", so I can give them to friends of various faiths. They're truly exquisite, and are sure to be loved by all. We've been impressed by his books, but these cards really wowed us! It's like opening a little gift each time. My family and I spent a good deal of time going through them when our order arrived, each of us choosing our favorites. What a treat! Robert Sabuda is a master at his craft.

With every letter of the alphabet represented in a small pop-up card it really is great to have one tin in the house to look at the whole set together. They are small but like all Sabuda's pop-up art a real treat to open.

I have this book and love it! I saw a movie on TV about 10 years ago about this book. I have not been able to find the movie on DVD or VHS. I would love to have a copy of the DVD if anyone knows where I can obtain one.

Do you like adventure? If so, read Julie Salamon's The Christmas Tree.
In this book Julie puts a man in charge of finding the perfect tree for Rockefeller Center. This book is an adventure book because the main character has to find the perfect tree before Christmas.
The main character's name is Jesse. Jesse leaves Rockefeller Center a few days before Christmas to find the perfect Christmas tree that everyone at Rockefeller Center would enjoy. On the way to upstate New York. Jesse saw the perfect tree, but this tree wasn't an ordinary tree because it belonged to a nun named Sister Anthony, known as Anna.
Jesse talked to Anna about the tree. This tree was the only friend that Anna had while growing up in the convent. Anna told Jesse a story about her and the tree. Jesse told Anna about why he needed the tree and Anna said that he could take the tree for Rockefeller Center.
The Christmas tree is a symbol enjoyed by all the people at Rockefeller Center, by the crowd, Jesse, and Anna. Anna was glad to see that everyone was enjoying tree.
If you like Christmas, or you just need some time to rest from working, or you just need to read something around a fire on a cold winter's night, this is the right book for you. This book is about sharing and caring at the same time. You should read this book because it is exciting and you can feel what is happening in this story.

In my opinion, this book is akin to "The Giving Tree". It is a beautiful story that my husband and I read together over the holidays. It is beautifully written and is a must own! Only a true SCROOGE will not be touched by this book!

I saw the 2006 Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center and felt compelled to read this little book that packs a huge punch. As a New Yorker, I delighted in the setting. The author writes with such visual details, personifying nature, amd the scenes came vividly alive in my mind as I was reading along. And this lovely story provides a gentle reminder of the lessons life has to offer and of the little joys we miss seeing or listening to thoughout the pressures and fast pace of our daily lives.

This picture book is my favorite for Valentine's Day. Mr. Hatch is a lonely, friendless man, until he receives a present from a secret admirer. Then, he blooms, contributing greatly to his community. The people in his neighborhood in turn support him as well, showing him how much he means to them. It is a lovely story about being a good friend, especially on Valentine's Day.

The book is wonderful. I used it in a classroom lesson about Valentine's Day. It has a lot of good lessons on feelings and emotions too.

All 4 of my grandchildren, especially the 4 yr olds, loved the story and illustrations kept their attention. Eileen is the best author for children, she really relates to what they appreciate.

This beautiful book is perfect for young and old! Although not religious it would be a great asset to any church library for Sunday school or even adult collections. I fell in love with this book!
