I like this book because two kids win a spelling bee.The winners are Karen and Hank the first one is Karen she wins a lot then she loses a spelling bee and Hank knows he could spell.Then a girl named Debbie wins a spelling bee too.

Annie is tired of studying for the big spelling bee.She wishes she could just spell every word with out even trying.So,Kilmer's Great-uncle Nilrem casts a spell to make her wish come true!Now Annie is worried.She doesn't want to cheat.What's worse,Issy has overheard the whole thing-and she wants to report Great-uncle Nilrem to the police!

Utako Yamada's retro style makes this story originally published in Japan in 2002 seem much older. All the colors are orange and yellow and green and brown. They remind me of stories from the 1950s.

Cherry loves to make and eat desserts. One day she makes an incredible apple cake and decides to enter it in a contest. It's a simple tale that makes one wish the recipe was included.

Instead, Bromhead crafts a driving story with strong characters, a compelling plot, and rich details in all the right places. The result is a magnificent demonstration, not only of the best of that contest, but also of all-around fine storytelling. Don't miss it.

This book is well written and does a great job showing how the Mass. Bay Colony tried (or did) to assume control over all colonies. Internal strife between colonies mixed with Indian attacks creates a very interesting story. Furthermore, we see natives appealing straight to the Royal Crown for aid against the MBC. The work essentially focuses on the MBC colony and its surge for power against Royal resistance among other colonies such as Maine.

My daughter was thriled when I gave her this book. It's one of her favorite TV programs. I am sure if they print more, she will want them all!

THEY ARE EXCELLENT FOR CHILDREN OF ALL AGES! I HAVE A FOUR YEAR OLD AND SHE JUST LOVES HAVING ME READ THESE BOOKS TO HER. EVERY TIME WE GO TO THE DOCTORS OFFICE SHE PICKS THIS BOOK. IT SHOWS CHILDREN HOW TO BE LOVING AND CONSIDERATE OF OTHERS AND HOW TO SHARE GOD'S LOVE WITH OTHERS. THIS IS THE BEST CHILDREN'S BOOK WE HAVE EVER READ!

I am not an expert in the history of the surfing, nor of vintage photography, but it is difficult not to be mesmerized by the images in this book. It hearkens a now, seemingly impossible, bygone era of classic beach, effortless glamour, which --should it appear today amidst not always tasteful supposed Hawaiian printed nylon board shorts, would be lauded by the most respected sartorialists, and young mavens who scrounge vintage shops and special boutiques for dearly priced retro-style, 50's and 60's inspired swimsuits. Ron Church captures excellent characters here: there are the celebrated contestants of course, their Ann-Margret girls and the throngs of awkward, admiring, adolescents. Most of all, the images in this book stirred in me a kind of nostalgia, a longing for a time before today's unending calamities and cataclysms. Surely our planet suffered its disasters then, but it's easy with a book such as this to imagine the moon incapable of violence, providing sunkissed youths with always reliable steady shores.

This is a great book about unrealistic expectations, especially when we have those expectations of other people (or pets). In this case, we find out if it's a blue ribbon or love that's more important. Humor and sensitivity help deliver the message.

I own a huge library of Taste of Home cookbooks, probably a couple dozen at least. To date, this is my favorite out of the Contest Winning Recipes annuals. There are so many new dishes in this cookbook, and the photography is mouthwatering. How about some Cheddar Chili Bread Twists? They're so easy to make with ingredients you probably already have around the house. My favorite recipes in this cookbook include Sheepherders Breakfast, Spicy Beef Salad, Maple Glazed Chicken Wings, Garlic Mushroom Appetizer, Oat Fashioned Strawberry Dessert, Cheeseburger Meat Loaf, and Pull Apart Bacon Bread. This cookbook has hundreds of recipes, more than anyone can possibly try out. I highly recommend this cookbook because the recipes are so easy to follow to make delicious food from scratch.
