I started reading this book with the fear that Friedenberg would start bashing particular Presidents based on their political affiliation, but I was glad to discover that he provides a critique of each leader without much bias to his own beliefs. While the tone of his narrative tends to side with the liberals, he nevertheless thoroughly scrutinizes each administration regardless of whether the leader was a republican or democrat. No president here was exempted from his criticisms. All were judged. His narratives contain numerous humorous anecdotes regarding the various presidents' personal and political follies. The information is also recent, ending with a look at the Clinton Administration and expressing some concluding remarks about what the Bush Administration might bring in the future. He focuses not only on each president's personal weaknesses, but he also connects these personal inadequacies to the president's national policies and the consequences of their failures.

His narrative is an easy read, and it is well-suited for the general public. It is not a concise academic analysis of political science and leadership. Rather, with its humor, wit, and sarcasm - this book serves more as a "wake-up call" by revealing to the public a side of the White House that is in many ways human and vulnerable to the machinations of human weaknesses and dark vices - such as immorality, corruption,greed, sexual scandals, racism, and ignorance. I mainly saw this book as a general read concerning politics, but because of the wonderful humor that it espoused, I simply could not put it down! Friedenberg's writing is crisp, vivid, smart, and funny. It was definitely a good read!

This is an excellent book that sleep researchers, clinicians, health care professionals and the public can rely upon to learn about earlier times in sleep research and sleep medicine. It is written in a very engaging format, provides enough detail about "the basics" (for its time) and Dr. Dement shares many interesting stories about earlier projects. A very delightful short read which ought to remain part of the important history of sleep medicine. Thumbs up!

When love and passion becomes an obsession,it get us into a vicious circle,that's what happened to werter the young author who was crazy in love with someone and who describes his tortures in a romantic style.Anyone may have lived this blind passion but few wrote it. An excellent book that narrates his story in letters he send to a friend to describe his deepest emotions.

This book is great for anyone who is interested in the history and development of the Spanish acequia system in San Antonio. The book also has a lot of background information about the founding of the city and the creation of the chain of missions that are counterparts to the acequias. Cox does a good job of creating a chronology for the use of the urban acequias and their eventual closing. As an archeologist, Cox participated in a lot of the digs on historic acequias which greatly enriches the book. The maps that he includes are vital for anyone attempting to identify where they ran in relation to the modern street pattern.

As a gay traveller it isn't always easy for two men to check in and have to fight to get a double bed. This guide is a good starting point for those in the same situation.

Poet Marijo Moore has the unique and rare ability to always go far beyond the obvious in all she puts to paper. Her insights not only inspire the spirit and provide fit medication for the soul, but they often can also provoke that swift, self kick in the rear that so many of us occasionally need. You simply can't read anything this thought provoking lady pens without creating emotional ties with every word. I highly recommend this and all her works.

If you work on a EMS system you NEED this book. The book covers almost any topic on power system weighted-least-squares state estimation. Knoledge of calculus and electric systems is advised. The book has plenty of examples easy to follow. Good book for learning and researching.
