Distribution Books

This book is perfect for kids leaving home and for bridal showers or housewarmings. When my sons set up their own homes, my cookbooks kept disappearing. They were "borrowing" them to make their favorite recipes. "My Most Fabulous Fantastic Recipes" is a book in which you can write your own collection of recipes, family favorites, friends' moms' best recipes, etc. Now my sons have their favorite recipes in one easy-use book and I have my cookbooks back.

For bridal showers, I've passed this book around beforehand, or even at the shower, and everyone has contributed their favorites to start the bride off with a great collection of tried and true recipes. This works very well for a housewarming gift also.

I was amazed how fast my 2-year-old began learning how to button and unbutton, snap, and buckle. This book is great because it's durable, washable, zips easily, and has a soft handle for carrying.

what can i say but here are all the rules to follow in order to be a safe and correct electrician. as an electrical contractor, i use this book almost daily to make sure my work is "up to code". the handbook shows in great detail plenty of examples and pictures of alot of the individual codes. this only helps to read and understand the national code. a must for anyone serious about his/her workmanship and the safety of the same workmanship.

Hey- what can I say, my Pilgrim Partner, Roger Conrad, and I, at the behest of Dr. Jett at UCD's Geography Dept, got to drive what ended up feeling like every side-of-a-side dirt-road turn-off track on the western half (west of Washington Pass, that is) of the Navajo Reservation back in the summer of '70, so my photos (and those of the others!) are pretty outstanding, and the data that Dr. Jett and Ms. Spencer put together for this book is really quite well collected & set forth.
This volume amply addresses both "traditional" (be there such?) Navajo accomodations, and their various & often-unique adaptations in the latter part of the 20th Century.
What is not in this volume are the adventures & times that Rog & I lived..., such as that fellow who'd a special cactus collection in the only 3 story house in that country, or the tiny old lady who invited us into her cinder-block home on the southern flank of Navajo Mt. to show off the largest rug we'd ever seen, there on her loom, or the trial & error delight of learning how to fairly-successfully navagate through that most foreign country, bouncing along in a '64 Ford 1/2 ton with a primitive canvas cabin we made on the back end, hunting up every trading post we could find & gathering info & leads without asking any questions, all in The Way.
But enough nostalgia- Buy the book!!

In his book, The The New Dollars and Dreams, Frank Levy provides a comprehensive and rigorous history of the distribution of income and wealth in the United States, focusing in detail on post WWII development. The book is readable without sacrificing depth, with appeal to scholarly and non-scholarly audiences alike.

Conservative readers and/or those with a neo-classical economic philosophy of life may find some of the author's assumptions, conclusions, and prescriptions for change off-putting. But it is not an ideological polemic. It presents an enormous amount of data and information along with its judgments, allowing the reader to contest the author's opinions.

Highlights of the book include: the gini coefficient measure of wealth and income inequality, the important distinctions between wealth and income, trends in both wealth and income inequality, how education and the service economy have interacted to affect the distribution of income (but not wealth), and the importance of the distinctions between among the experiences of African American men and women's, as well as African American and white women.

Immensely useful and enjoyable--a rare combination.

This book starts where field guides leave off. If you're interested in learning about an animal's habitat, behavior, and distribution in the New Enland region, then this book is indispensible. A great study tool for the wildlife enthusiast who wants to go beyond the condensed text of picture field guides. Note: this book assumes that you are familiar with the animals' physical appearance, so if you're not, you'll need a good regional field guide as companion book.

Meg Hickling is a nurse who addresses all the stages of child develeopment and what the kids need to know as preschoolers, elementary kids, junior high, senior high--it is so helpful, and it was a great starting point to frame a discussion with my husband about what we should be telling our boys, 9 and 6. If you liked the "What to Expect" books the tone of this book will be very comfortable to you.

This book tells just about everything there is to know on beach hunting, surf hunting, ocean hunting, etc. It gives tips and information on how it should be done and were to look. I have been treasure hunting ever since I read this book. I reccomend this book to anybody who wants to get into treasure hunting or lust wants to learn more on the subject.

Finally, someone who is not afraid to stand up against the charismatic movement. Oakland presents an excellent case as to the dangers of the Charismatic movement and how their roots lead to Catholicism. He even shows how this movement can be traced back over 2000 yrs ago, from a pagan goddess. I recommend this book to anyone.
