More Than A Book -- An Invitation To Be Great & GratefulReview Date: 2005-03-19
And with a courageous strength of conviction, this brilliant author-compiler has made her case complete by achieving this feat through an astounding array of true stories (written by a most impressive group of contributing writers, and a few celebrities drawn from a refreshingly crystalline well of many cultures and countries).
You must buy this book! You deserve to feel great for the good you have done in this difficult life that we all share as part of humanity. You also deserve to remember, with gratitude (like the stories in Sentinels Along The Way) those who helped you get there. Oh, and the book itself is a work of art in design and composition -- a feast not only for the heart, but for the eyes as well.

Speed to Market is a must-read, easy read.Review Date: 2000-10-26
Mr. Bozzone's experience and knowledge are evident throughout the book. His viewpoint brings a dimension and a dynamic quality which allows the reader to benefit from the many "real-life" examples peppered throughout the pages. The many models and illustrations help the reader understand the concepts and operational strategies that improve job shop performance.
From a training perspective, Speed to Market provides a sound basis for developing programs that would help people at all levels to understand the intricacies of managing a job shop. The book is an excellent tool for constructing a curriculum that would benefit experienced managers who need to re-think their current situation, as well as people who are new to the job shop environment.
It is clear that owner-operators and managers of job shops would be well served by having their people understand and use the concepts and information presented in this book.
Speed to Market is a "must-read". Speed to Market is an "easy read". Speed to Market should be on your bookshelf! Speed to Market should be on your bookshelf!

A gem...dubfounding in it's PracticalityReview Date: 2000-10-26
Speed to Market is a refreshing and unique book on "how to cut lead time and increase profits in job shops and custom manufacturing environments." Not only is this one of the few books available on this heretofore ignored topic, it is written as a step-by-step manual for designing and running a profitable job shop, incorporating detailed structure and process elements as they relate to the bottom-line. Actual client studies help make this book even more pragmatic.
Once you read this book, you realize that Vince Bozzone really is a rare expert in job shops and process improvement design.

As title says--The state of working America-- and I am part of it I expect to see reflections of real life and this part is missing.
All the authors talk is wages, wages and more wages.
What is real life? Real life is prices, what is available, crime considerations, where to live etc.
Authors take family as main entity which is far from reality; reality is 51% of american households are single not family and this is the trend.
Mobility is second consideration as working people have to move to survive. Yes, my income define where I live and how crime affect my decisions and my income define what I eat and where and my income define why I am single. And, yes, we have 47 millions americans without health insurance and about 5 millions homeless which are part of working America. But this is not reflected in book.
The main question of this type of book should be--why nothing changes and how to change.

Change Is Needed Now and Here's WhyReview Date: 2007-04-30
This book caused me to re-read Kevin Phillips' book "The Politics of Rich and Poor," published in 1990. It provides statistical and anecdotal evidence of the negative effects of Reagan-omics on our social system, much as Bush-enomics has. I even went farther back and re-read Michael Harrington's "The Other America," the seminal, monumental book of its time in 1962 about poverty in America.
These books along with so many others make you ask, as we've asked so many times, "When will it ever change?" I guess making people aware of the problem, although it's readily apparent in everyday life, is the place to start. These books, representing 45 years of rhetoric, make you agonizingly aware that things have gone nowhere but down. So, read all of them.

Wonderful Teacher's Notes!Review Date: 2003-08-12
I also own the Teacher's Notes for "Mozart's Magic Fantasy" as well as "Beethoven Lives Upstairs" and "Song of the Unicorn". The amount of reasearch that went into these Notes is quite impressive. They are all wonderful resources and, in my opinion as a private teacher, worth twice the money!
