This is a wonderful guide for anyone who is into collecting Corgi toys. I especially enjoyed the value guide in the back even though this book was published 10 years ago.My only disappointment was that the author didn't put more information about the "Character" cars which I am so fond of collecting.

The inexpensive big book on Corgi Toys.

This isnt the biggest book on Corgi Toys but its better than most and affordable. This book is superb.High quality colour photos throughout of a wide variety of many Corgi Toys and accessories. The photos show various toys from a good angle not the side on view as per the wide short type books printed by the publisher.A very enjoyable book, high quality and inexpensive.

This is an excellent, well set out book with clear instructions to make suck quilts as:
Berried Treasures
Bishopdale
D'Urville
Fifeshire
Marble Mountain
Sandy Bay
Tasman Bay
Trafalgar Square and others.
Using Joyce's Squirty & Squiffy family of quilting shorthand one look through this book should make you think "I can make that."
I have very successfully made mitred borders with Joyce's instructions - they're now a breeze!!!
Quilts are photographed on location (eg Berried Treasures in a Berryfruit garden) in and around Nelson, Top of South Island of New Zealand.

Joyce Jones' Uncovering Traditional Quilts provides piecing tips and techniques, showing how to explore combinations of piecing techniques and how to use squares and rectangles to easy advantage. A recommended pick for avid quilters.

Uncovering Traditional Quilts

This book is more than what it might seem at first look. Yes, it is a primer for making simple traditional-style quilts. Beginners as well as more experienced quilters will have excellent results using Joyce Jones' easy techniques, largely new to America. One happy fact is that no triangles have to be cut or pieced to create any of the many new designs in the book - hard to believe, but true! The author presents her system of quilt construction and her "quilt shorthand" language for analyzing any traditional quilt patterns clearly and with humor. But what I found even more intriguing are the many original designs themselves. I've been quilting for a number of years, and I'm pretty familiar with traditional designs. These quilts look like they might have been made one hundred years ago by our great grandmothers - almost! In each case, there is a freshness to the design; a bit of a different look that lets the reader know this book comes from somewhere else - New Zealand in this case. I'm tempted to make several of these quilts, because I know that each one is going to look original and refreshingly new to my fellow quilters. If you like to piece, like the geometry of traditional designs but want to make something just a bit different from the usual, and want to work quickly and accurately, give this book a try. The author covers, with thoroughness and clarity and excellent illustrations and photos, the basics of fabric selection, preparation, all the steps in quilt construction, and finishing techniques. From inspiration to standing back and listening to the complements, this book will be an invaluable guide to you in your next several projects.

This is a great resource for any serious or novice collector. I've been waiting for this volume to arrive ever since I read Volume 1 and, let me say, this book was worth the wait. Like the first, this one is chock full of specific info and tons of pictures. It continues the narrative where Vol 1 left off and acts both as an easy reference guide that you can hop in and out of as well as a great beginning-to-end read that gives you a more complete picture.

At long last the second volume is on the shelves! Ever since I've read volume one I've been looking forward to the arrival of this book. I found it fascinating and very informative. I'm somewhat new to collecting stamps but this book provides all of the information I need and more. I plan on bringing it to my stamp club meetings as a reference for all of our members. Highly recommended for all!

This is a super book, intelligent and attractive as well. As a child, I loved Vernor's Ginger Ale, and I enjoyed reading this book tremendously! The history of the company is well written and interesting, and the numerous illustrations are varied and delightful. I especially appreciated the chronology and bibliography that balance the cool graphics with authoritative research. Well done!!

This unique and eye opening saga into the history of Vernor's, reveals a facinating evolution from a doctor prescribed tummy soother, to "Detroit's Drink". Lawerence L. Rouch is an increadible writer who brings to life the colorful and amazing history of more than just a soft drink, but of the city of Detroit itself. From "The Original Ginger Ale's" post civil war beginings to its current position in the highly competive soft drink market of today, the Vernor story truly is one of a kind.

It is not likely you will ever encounter any of the glass shown in this book but the book is worth buying anyway for anyone who enjoys collecting depression glass. The photos in this book will have you drooling for hours. And who knows? You might actually find one of these beauties one day and buy it because you remember seeing it in the book and knowing that the $50 asking price was well worth it since Gene says its worth $2000!

A true rarity for Victorian style

While there may be a plethora of books on the subject of Victorian decorative arts, none have the ample number of photographs this one has.

My wife and I recently bought a circa 1900 home, complete with most of its original elements ranging from seven glorious mantels to original gaslight overhead lighting fixtures. The only problem was the awful interior paint job, and of course, lack of Victorian furniture.

We searched everywhere for a book which depicts correct colors and design elements to no avail. Then at the local library we came across this currently (at the time of this writing) out of print book. It is still available as new and used from Amazon, where we purchased our copy.

The text is excellent, however, the photographs are the main selling point. If you are interested in authentic Victorian style and want to decorate your home correctly, this book has it all.

This book is a must have for any lover of the Victorian era. The photographs are gorgeous, wonderful quality. I have it on my coffee table for all to see. Please don't hesitate if you want this book because you will regret it. I have always loved this era, especially Victorian homes. If I had the money, I would live one. My dream!

A must for everyone who owns or dreams of owning a victorian period home. Covering grand to smaller scale homes, this book takes you through every nook and cranny of homes...from porches to living rooms to victorian style bathrooms. This book offers the reader so many ideas but is not a true reference book...no how-to's in this one but rather a visual treasure chest of examples for those looking to renovate or decorate in true victorian style. A source directory is included. Enjoy!

Awesome book, well researched and presented. Flying headgear which
includes helmets, hats, caps, goggles, oxygen masks, microphones,
headsets, face masks, etc. from the Wright Brothers, WWI, between the
wars, and WWII. Includes designations and variations of headgear. Most
photos are color from various collections along with black and white
period photos. Great book along with Jet Age Flight Helmets book;
Spalding Aviator's Clothing & Equipment in the 1920s-1930s; C.G.
Sweetings Combat Flying Clothing and Combat Flying Equipment books; Jeff
Warner's U.S. Naval Aviation Flying Clothing and Gear.

Extremely well researched and accurate in every detail.

I am an avid collector of World War One and Two aviation items, and this extremely well researched and beautifully put-together volume is one to have for collectors, modelers, enthusiasts, historians, museums, or just for those wishing to identify grandpa's old stuff in the attic!

The information entered in the volume has been meticulously researched and well laid out with both period photographs of the gear in wear, and modern day close-ups of gear from both the author's collection and from the collections of fellow collectors.

I also encourage those interested to pick up the next two volumes that are coming out concerning "Luftwaffe vs. RAF", flight equipment of the opposing air forces during the second world war.

Both thumbs up from me!

Miniature car racing is a thing of the past except for some beautiful old race cars and a few nostalgic followers. My grandfather was an avid racer and is mentioned in this book, which is how I came across it. My family has one copy which we pass around to remind us of "the old times". This is a wonderful book with all of the great names and the GREAT cars. It's good to see that all of the fun and work that went along with this sport is wonderfully captured to be remebered forever.

This book was better than i have imagined... it comes with a poster, a cards set and the book itself, but lacks that does not come with a vinyl figure at all, like fusion from IDN pro comes. Anyways it has lots of interviews with the toys designers, and the book itself has a great design effort!
So many figures, source of inspiration for any character designes such as me, or for serious toy fans!
